11 Things College Girls Will ALWAYS Have In Her Backpack

Fancy pens, so our notes need to be pretty so we can look back at them while cramming and say, “Oh pretty!”

When getting my backpack ready each day, I realize that I don’t travel light. Sure, I have books and notebooks, but here are some other essentials that I and other college girls carry with them on a daily basis (if you should ever need something)

1. A water bottle

I always carry one with me, because I drink a ton of water, but I find more girls have water bottles than any other type of drink (unless it’s an 8 AM class, which is sponsored by coffee)

2. Keys

Whether it be dorm keys or car keys, or house keys, we jingle and jangle so much you can hear us from a mile away

3. Fancy pens

Our notes need to be pretty so we can look back at them while cramming and say, “Oh pretty!”

4. Tissues

In the real world, nobody has tissues. Girls always come prepared for the tears, runny noses and spills of life

5. Band-Aids

Same goes for band-aids. Those hangnails and paper cuts always come at the worst time and those makeshift tissue Band-Aids just don’t work

6. A snack

I mean a girl has got to eat. Lunch is still over an hour away

7. A second snack

And then another one for later, because the munchies hit at 2:00 and you won’t be home until 5.

8. Headphones

3-hour break between classes= 3-hour jam session with yourself

9. Their laptop

It makes you look like you are listening in class, but really are writing an Odyssey article

10. A planner

If you are going to keep up with life, you have to write it down and highlight it and cross it out and have a cute cover to make you seem like you have it all together (which is silly because nobody does)

11. Wrappers they said they would throw away 2 weeks ago

When you are too lazy to throw things away, you discover your backpack has become a garbage can. Avoid that at all costs, nobody wants bugs.

Did I miss something? Probably. These are the basics, but every girl has different needs. Who knows, you might even carry a purse.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
