11 Things To Appreciate About The Fall

With the doors to school open once again, these seemingly never ending days, trapped between concrete walls, are not as bright as the summer once was. In order to compensate for this misfortune, the Fall season presents a multitude of aspects to appreciate.

1) A lot of _____ picking

Yes, there is a fill in the blank. The options are really up to you as the season present all sorts of _____ picking. From pumpkins to apples, there really is no right or wrong.

2) The. Leaves. Change. Colors.
THEY’RE JUST SO PRETTY.

3) Haunted Houses
If you’re brave enough, they certainly won’t disappoint. Better yet, if you’re lucky, you may just happen to find another one of those clowns during your visit (praying you won’t).

4) Friday Night Lights
Cheering on your school’s football team, good or bad, will ALWAYS bring you the best memories. An old tradition for all students to follow, it’s certainly an opportunity for all to feel welcome since it’s pretty much a huge social gathering (I hear people actually watch the sport too).

5) Sweater SZN
Fuzzy, oversized, comfy, warm, you name it, a sweater is your number one for your fall wardrobe. As The Neighborhood’s hit song title goes, Sweater Weather, it’s back, baby.

6) Pumpkin Spice Latte are Back
Without a doubt, it’s a fall go to for every white girl to walk through Starbucks during this season. It’s about time they’ve returned (PSL I’ve missed you).

7) Crunchy Leaves
You know that feeling you get when you step on a pile of leaves and hear them crunch? That’s the feeling. Since the leaves are EVERYWHERE, it’s pretty easy to experience if you don’t know what I’m talking about (which would be absolutely tragic).

8) ______ Pie
After you go ______ picking, it’s time to make some ______ pie.

9) Crisp Air

As if you’re being resurrected to life, the refreshing air of fall is bound to bring your lungs satisfaction. In comparison to other seasons, the temperature is just right for you to feel comfortable with this air to indulge in.

10) Fire Pits
A continuation of summer, fire pits are a sweet ending to any night because Spongebob is right, “let’s gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song.”

11) Halloween to Thanksgiving
From costumes to turkeys, the fall has some of the best holidays to celebrate. Dressing up and seeing your friends in their kooky outfits is bound to bring smiles. Within a month, you’ll find yourself surrounded by your family to spend some quality time with, and food. Lots and lots of food.

Without a doubt, fall has some pretty fun things for everyone to enjoy. There is something to do for everyone as the list goes on!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:
