You are excited. You are nervous. You are ready. But, there is nothing wrong with having a little help. A little insider information. College can be scary and overwhelming; however, it is also the best time of your life. So, here are a few tips and tricks to make your freshman year at OSU a little easier:

1. Download Tapingo.

Jamba Juice is notorious for being slow, so order 30 minutes ahead of time during the busy parts of the day. Same with Caribou.

2. Don’t walk up the steps of Morrill.

The story is, if you walk up the front steps you won’t graduate. I wouldn’t worry about it, but if you do, use the side doors.

3. Get all the free stuff.

Even if you don’t want it, you NEVER say no to free stuff. Ever. I got a free case of Dr. Pepper during Welcome Week last year. Do I drink Dr. Pepper? No. Was it awesome getting a free case of Dr. Pepper? Yes.

4. Drink coffee.

Don’t like coffee? Learn to.

5. Use your meal plan.

Because Lord knows, you don’t have the money to pay for food off campus.

6. Don’t be afraid to befriend people in your dorm.

Chances are, you will meet some pretty great people. I did.

7. Take naps.

Sometimes even when you don't want to take a nap, it will find you -- in the library, in the student union, in the lounge.

8. GO TO CLASS.

My God, why do people even need to be told this?

9. Don’t buy your books from campus.

Amazon is a goldmine for cheap books. And, if you don’t want to buy, there is always Chegg.com for renting.

10. Go to the library.

Study your butt off. Oh, and it's OK to cry. It’s like a rite of passage.

11. Make memories.

Go on midnight runs to IHOP with your friends. Have bonfires. Go to football games. Join a club, or several. And, just be yourself!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
