If you're anything like me, you enjoy your morning coffee with books like "The New Yorker Book of Lawyer Cartoons," and train rides to DC to visit the courthouse. These are 10 sure signs you are a legal nerd, but don't worry there's nothing to be ashamed of. One day, I'm sure, your knowledge will come to good use. Or maybe never, who knows.
1. You will laugh at almost any and all legal jokes.
I mean, literally, there is no limit to the amount of times there have been tears in your eyes because of comics depicting lawyers who have lost their patience.
2. Debates and discussions in class are actually fun.
I know! Who would have ever thought? I mean the frustration from the professor, the ticking clock, the pointless arguments. Truly nothing better.
3. You live for "Suits" and "How To Get Away With Murder."
Save yourself and never get into an argument with Harvey Specter or Annalise Keating though let's be real, Mike and Wes always manage to.
Yes, yes you are.
4. You are literally the only one laughing at punny lawyer jokes that you yourself make.
I mean do other people even have a sense of humor?
5. There is never a bad time to watch Elle Woods doing her thing.
Literally, never.
6. You watch movies like "Legally Blonde" and "My Cousin Vinny" and point out all their flaws.
Great movies, but literally nothing like law school and the real world.
7. You follow high profile trials for fun.
Let's be real, it just never stops giving.
8. You enjoy mornings in the courthouse.
For me, there are no better mornings than when I have to wake up at 6 a.m. to catch the metro and walk like a mile to the federal courthouse in DC. People look at me as if i'm from another world when I tell them that. But nothing is more enjoyable than coffee and law, am I right?
9. Documentaries on history and law are so, so much fun.
Like I could snuggle up and watch a documentary without any regrets.
10. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is your spirit animal, as are Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
11. You have no regrets for any of these, because one day you will be an awesome lawyer who will take over the court floor.
You will only have that one episode of "Suits" to thank you for that. Just kidding.
