We love them. We idolize them. We want to be them.

No, not the Kardashians. And if you really thought of that first I’m slightly judging you.

I’m talking about SUPERHEROES.

They are one of the greatest bits of imagination any person could have ever thought up. Born and raised in a comic book world, I’ve come to learn, love, and appreciate the wonders of living in a world where superheroes save the day. The best part about them are not only their impeccably good looks, but the powers they bestow. How awesome would that be to finally be above average?

Not that you’re not a superstar every day…

Let’s answer the bigger question. Which superpower would you want to possess?

1. Flight

We’ve all at one point probably wished to have the ability to fly. The idea of seeing the world in a whole new perspective is absolutely exhilarating. Plus, you’d save a ton on airfare!

2. Invisibility

It’s the ultimate wish to pull off the greatest prank of all time. Or to not get caught with your hand in the cookie jar. You’d get to sneak your way to the front of any line or get in to any event for free. You’d even get front row or sneak backstage to your favorite shows.

3. Teleporting

Who has time to wait when you can teleport to any place you’d like to visit? How about Rome? Paris? Australia even? This would come in handy if you have no car at your disposal and need to get away or if you just want to go see grandma for some sweets. Either way, the ability to teleport would be a time saver!

4. Mind Reader

Ever wonder what your crush was thinking? Maybe they were thinking about you? Well with this superpower you’d never have to wonder again. You’d know everyone’s thoughts and exactly what they’re thinking. Reminds me of a certain vampire…

5. Super Strength

With this power you’d put The Hulk to shame. The big green giant and his bad temper will be nothing in comparison to your super strength. You’d be able to lift cars, buildings, bridges and so on. Time to cancel that gym membership because you’d never need to step foot inside a gym again.

6. Shape-Shifter

Here’s something that will boost your self esteem. Imagine being able to be whoever you wanted to be…literally. Not only would you be able to live out your dream as a superstar but you’d feel more confident than ever. I know I would if I looked like Jennifer Lawrence. Plus, it’d be cool to see the looks on people’s faces if they saw Brad Pitt in their local supermarket.

7. Mind Control

Now this superpower is on X-Men level. Being able to bend even metal with your mind sounds pretty cool. Or if your mom forgets to shut the door when exiting your room it would come in handy. This could also overlap with the term “compulsion” featured in CW’s hit series “Vampire Diaries”. Having the ability to make others do whatever you desire could be blessing and a curse depending on how you use it.

8. Super Speed

Move over Flash there’s a new speed racer in town! You’d be the fastest person alive. Not even Usain Bolt could catch you. Stayed up all night on a school night and overslept? This is where this superpower comes in handy. You’d always make it to school or class on time.

9. Healing

With this superpower you could heal anything from a broken arm to a broken heart. Your touch is the most purest of them all. No need for a hospital. You’re your own personal doctor with just the wave of your hand.

10. Precognition

Ever wanted to change the outcome before it happened? Precognition allows you to see the future before it occurs. This would help prevent you from making mistakes and getting things right the first time.

11. Elasticity

Imagine: you’re watching your favorite television show and the remote flew off the couch accidentally landing on the pause button and you don’t want to move from your oh-so-comfy position. What do you do? Elasticity allows you to stretch your body in ways you never thought possible. You’d be able to reach anything without ever having to leave the couch again!

Regardless of who you idolize having any of these powers would come in handy. So I’ll ask again. Which superpower would you want to have?

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
