11 Struggles Of Women's Pockets

Most of the time they're not even functional.

Being a woman has its ups and downs. We can bring babies into this world (of course with some help), and we can rocks buns without judgment (sorry, guys. man-buns really shouldn't be a thing). Although that stuff is cool, one of the worst parts of being a woman are pockets in women's clothing. Every time I go somewhere, I have to take a bag or get creative with how I carry my belongings. Sometimes guys with pockets are nice enough to hold your stuff, but it really shouldn't be like that. I'd like to keep my stuff with me, so here are 11 struggles of women's pockets.

1. Some are just for looks.

Nothing is more annoying than trying to put something into your pocket and realizing it is sewn shut. Stupid.

2. Dresses usually don't have any.

What are you supposed to do with everything? Hold it? I'd prefer not to. If you do find a dress with pockets, it's one of the best things in the world.

3. Leggings definitely don't have any.

This one is frustrating, too. Most of the time I put my stuff in the waistband until it starts to move down my leg.

4. They're too shallow to hold phones.

With phones getting bigger, it seems harder and harder trying to fit your phone in them.

5. Your belongings are constantly hanging out of them.

This one goes along with the shallowness. Since they're too shallow, your stuff is like halfway out of your pocket making it easy for things to fall out/get lost.

6. There isn't enough room for your phone, keys, wallet, or anything else you may have.

The back ones are usually just for show, so you have to force everything in the front ones which can be annoying.

7. You can't put your hands in them.

I like to put my hands in my pockets, and sometimes I can't. I feel really uncomfortable when this happens since I don't know what to do with my hands.

8. They bunch up when you first put them on.

Girls pants are generally pretty tight, so you have to awkwardly move your hands to un-bunch your pants. It looks so strange.

9. Back pockets sometimes have buttons.

When this happens, sitting down can be rather uncomfortable since you have something hard pushing on your butt. At the least they're functional.

10. You're forced to carry a bag/your belongings.

Instead of just making functional pockets, we have to carry around a bag or something to hold our things. I really don't want something I have to carry every where. It's annoying.

11. Or you have to get creative with how you carry things.

I've found myself putting items in my bra and even shoes before. It's not comfortable.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
