It’s no secret that college students are ballin’ on a budget. Your three hour work-study shift, (at $8 per hour), isn’t exactly enough dough to support the diva lifestyle you think you deserve. It seems like no matter how many hours you work at your minimum-wage job, you’re constantly struggling to make enough cash. But what exactly does one do when they’re chasing a Kardashian lifestyle on a Flavor Flav budget? Every college student has tricks to “stay afloat” when their funds are getting low. No one likes to ask their parents for money, so you do what all hardworking adults do; pick up a few extra shifts at work and live off Ramen Noodles until payday. Then, you hustle-on in this manner until you have enough money to put gas in your car and to pay Friday night’s cover charge at your favorite bar. The only thing that makes you feel better is knowing that your roommate is struggling as much as you are. Here are a few of the unfortunate realities one faces as a broke-a$$ college student.

1. Feeling #Blessed when you find money in your pocket.

2. Sometimes you get lucky and your Grandparents sneak you some cash.

3. You're constantly hangry because you have no money for groceries.

4. Your car is constantly low on gas.

5. Trying to eat healthy but salads are eight dollars and McNuggets are one dollar.

6. When you can't afford to buy a case of water bottles.

7. Asking a friend to spot you cash for a cab.

8. Returning bottles and cans for some extra money.

9. Begging a friend to "swipe you in" at the dining hall so you can eat for free.

10. Struggling on every quiz because you refused to pay for the textbook.

11. Trying to get your boyfriend/girlfriend to buy you food like...

So college students, cheer up! We all feel your pain. Try to remember it won't be this way forever. One day, after these four long, painful, broke years, you'll have a grownup job! And we all know what that means, all the Chipotle you could ever dream of! So until then, return your water bottles for some extra cash, collect coins in a jar, and always say yes to a free meal.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
