Crafting is a long and overwhelming process. There are many steps everyone goes through to eventually create the "perfect" craft.
1. Finding your purpose
Whether you have to make a craft for a big or little or want to make one as a gift for someone the reason behind the craft is important.
2. Snooping
You've established the receiver of this craft. Now, it is your job to snoop. You must stalk all their social media, question their best friends, and remember every detail of previous conversations in order to pin point their likes, dislikes, and favorite color/ pattern/ and T.V. shows.
3. Research
Then, with all this random information you must learn about these subjects. You have to Google or Pinterest to find ideas for a perfect craft. If they love Grey's Anatomy and you stopped watching after the first season there is plenty of research to be done about characters, themes, and possible quotes to be used for the craft.
4. Shopping
This stage is self-explanatory. It includes multiple trips to Michael's, A.C. Moore, Target, and Wal-mart. You are bound to forget a paint color, run out of canvases, or have your dog chew up all your good paint brushes. This stage isn't cheap but thankfully there are coupon to clip, sales and clearance sections to peruse.
5. Procrastination
So you have everything you need... except motivation. Maybe, the craft will just magically appear.
6. Planning
The schematics of this craft are drawn in every notebook you own. You're the Leonardo Da Vinci of crafting.
7. Obsession
This craft is your life. You would skip class to finish it if you could. You have become obsessed with it and making sure that it is perfect.
8. Re-do
Accept it, sometimes a craft will just not work out. Whether the colors don't compliment each other, the idea wasn't well thought out, or you don't have the motivation to finish it. Luckily, you can just scrub off the paint or paint over it (reduce, reuse, recycle) This stage will restart the crafting process.
9. Final touches
Is it done? Is it missing something? You look at it over and over until you can no longer look at this craft.
10. Acceptance
This is as good as its going to get.
11. Pride
The paint has dried and you don't hate what you've created. Now, the craft is acceptable for giving to its rightful owner. You anticipate the look in their eyes when you give them their time-consuming, glitter-bombed, and thoughtful craft.
