The jeep is overflowing with luggage. Flip-flops are practically falling out of the trunk and bikini straps are poking out of every bag. A group of six college girls are escaping the cold Ohio weather and heading to Florida for a sunny and relaxing spring break. Expensive plane tickets didn’t really fit into our “lofty” college budgets, so we decided to hit the open road instead. 1,922 miles were shared together over the last week. The jeep is a little sandier, our skin is a little tanner, and our smiles are a little bigger.
Here are 11 things I learned road tripping with five of my
best friends...
1.Windows down, sun glowing, hair blowing in the wind. Nothing beats it.
2. Someone always has to pee.
Six girls who like to go to the restroom together at restaurants, but we couldn't seem to coordinate on our long journey.
3. Google Maps is your best friend!
4. “Hangry” is a real emotion.
Just remember... you’re not yourself when you’re hungry.
5. Cat naps are frequent.
It’s safe to say the drivers got a little “me” time on the open road.
6. Listening to two hours of Justin Bieber may yield regrets.
His old stuff will spark karaoke hour for sure, but just wait. You’ll be “sorry” if you know what I mean.
7. Cheez-Its are always the go to snack.
Cheesy, salty, portable. These crackers are the best road snack.
8. "99 bottles of beer on the wall” is still a fun road trip activity… for about three minutes.
9. Playing Florida Georgia line at the Florida-Georgia border makes for a great snap story.
10. Sunburned backs lathered in aloe vera stick to car seats.
More SPF on our beach trips would have been beneficial.
