Having songs to jam out to is the best. Am I right? Just being able to have a playlist of great feel-good songs is always a great thing. However, some people tend to stick to just one genre of music and only listen to that. There are tons of amazing genres of music, all having a plentitude of total feel-good songs. So here are eleven songs from different genres guaranteed to put a smile on your face and make you want to rock out.

1. "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates (Pop-Rock)

I would say a lot of 80's songs are pretty darn feel-good. Hall and Oates definitely supplied us with some pretty great "get up and dance around" songs. Here is my favorite by them.

2. "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae (R&B)

I don't think it is possible to listen to this song without swaying to the beat with a smile on your face.

3. "Turn It Around" by Lucius (Indie Pop)

You have probably heard the chorus to this song, but you don't know it. It is featured in a lot of TV commercials and shows. One of the best songs with one of the catchiest beats.

4. "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction (Pop-Rock)

I am not even going to pretend I don't love One Direction. I also think 90% of the world can yell this sng at the top of their lungs.

5. "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond (Soft Rock)

You are lying if you say you do not SCREAM "BAH BAH BAH" to back up Neil Diamond.

6. "22" by Taylor Swift (Pop)

I'd be lying if I said i haven't danced around my bedroom to this song while singing into a hairbrush.

7. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Michael Buble (Jazz)

I love this song. Like so much. Like I want to dance to this song with my future husband on a cruise ship. #futuregoals

8. "Let the Praises Ring" by Lincoln Brewster (Gospel)

This is my favorite Christian song. I jam to this song when I drive.

9. "My Shot" from Hamilton: An American Musical (Musical Theatre)

There was no way this list was ending without some musical theatre. Listen to this song and rap along with Lin-Manuel Miranda.

10. "Chicken Fried" by Zac Brown Band (Country)

This is a sit on your porch and have a summer barbeque with your best friends kind of song. A true feel-good.

11. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor (Disco)

This is a song to listen to with one of the greatest feel-good messages. And you can jam to it.

So, here is a list of songs that make me feel good. They all make me smile and want to dance and sing and have fun. This playlist also has a pretty good variation of different genres. So, go forth and jam.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
