Spring forward was a drag for many so why not jump into spring with a fresh playlist? Here are 11 songs worth listening to this spring. Here's a link to listen to the playlist on Youtube!

1. Bad Suns - "Cardiac Arrest"

This song is, to me, a mix of pop, rock, and indie sounds. With an extremely catchy tune and captivating imagery put through lyrics, this song will definitely get stuck in your head if you listen to it enough.

2. The Solarists - "Dream Girl"

The Solarists offer a super pop-y and fun tune with "Dream Girl." The chorus is mostly made up of "woah"s and "oh"s, and it's incredibly easy to sing along to and find yourself humming it without thinking.

3. Saint Motel - "My Type"

Super funky, bright and fun, "My Type" is great to listen to when you want to break the monotony that comes with cleaning up around the house.

4. Bastille - "Snakes"

Off their latest album, "Wild World," Bastille's sound has moved over from the indie sounds for the time being and embraced pop sounds. "Snakes" is a great extension of that light and airy, tiny bit of piano thrown in there, pop that Bastille pulls off in their own way.

5. Matt Nathanson - "Gold in the Summertime"

A lot of people know Matt Nathanson for his song, "Come On Get Higher," which was more of a pop ballad, but "Gold In the Summertime" brings in a bit more electricity and funk, with a very catchy chorus.

6. Bad Suns - "Swimming in the Moonlight"

This song reminds me a bit of Earth, Wind, and Fire's "Dancing in the Moonlight." It's super fun to sing along to and it's great to just chill out to when you're looking for a moment to yourself.

7. COIN - "Talk Too Much"

"Talk Too Much" is a super playful and fun song. I can see myself driving in the car with my friends, all the windows rolled down, screaming along to different parts of the chorus.

8. Silent Pilot - "California"

Silent Pilot is actually out of the Bay Area and with this song, you can definitely tell they love their roots. This song has a very pop, but also light rock, feel making it light and airy but also something to rock along to in the car.

9. Hippo Campus - "Boyish"

Hippo Campus' indie rock vibes play out well in "Boyish." It's an easy-to-listen-to song that feels dreamy and sweet, almost.

10. The Mowgli's - "Spacin' Out"

I've been playing this song on repeat for a few weeks now, it's so addictive to me. The song is so much fun and it's so easy to relate to, I can't help but get it stuck in my head every once in a while.

11. Andy Grammer - "Fresh Eyes"

This song is probably the most minimalist sounding out of this playlist (in my opinion). When I listen to it, it's easy for me to zone out and relax because there's so much to listen to lyrically and I can pick out individual pieces.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
