11 Signs You're a VBS Volunteer

Vacation Bible School is the best and most exhausting weeks out of the whole summer. However, with all of the chaotic-ness amongst the children, they are learning about the most important book in all of history. Shoutout to all of the volunteers during this amazing week and some signs that you can hopefully relate to!

1. You know how much preparation truly goes into this week

Volunteers needed. Decorations in tact. Performance date set aside. Prayers. Everything needs to be planned in the months before.

2. Decorations galore

Found a place giving away cardboard for free? Or the whole church donating a ton of milk jugs? Let's make an igloo that can hold 10 kids. It'll be great.

3. You have literally ALL of the songs memorized by the second day

You find yourself singing them in the middle of Walmart.

4. For some reason, all of the little kids don't annoy you THAT much

Then again, it's only a week.

5. Potty breaks are scheduled down to the minute

"Okay, who needs to go to the bathroom while were over here?"

6. FREE SNACKS

Yasssssssss. Shoutout to all of the ladies who go above and beyond with the snacks each year. (and yes that is a submarine)

7. You already know which days games are going to get messy

Water. Water. Water.

8. You know just where that "one kid" is hiding

"Have you seen [insert name here]?" "Oh yea they just ran down that way.."

9. "Hey you..."

60 names is hard to remember and everyone gets called "Hey you"

10. You spread the Gospel each day

The Word of God is the most important part of Vacation Bible School.

11. You have the songs and actions embedded in your head for years to come

Trust me on this...I can sing all of the books of the Bible and do all of the actions to Amazing Grace.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
