Being without your college squad over the summer is nothing short of frightening. Of course, you'll make plans to visit each other as much as possible but it's just not the same when you're not breathing the same air as them 24/7.

After all, you spend eight months a year with these people, so they basically have become your family. The long distance struggle during the summer is too real and frankly, makes us want to pull our hair out sometimes. Time, money and crazy long transportation stand in the way of you and your college BFF(s). It should be a legitimate crime, if you ask me.

Here are 11 signs you're in a summer long distance relationship with your college bff(s):

1. Whenever you guys are texting, on the phone or even Facetiming,"I miss you" inevitably comes into the conversation.

2. You're always trying to making plans to see each other, even when half the time it doesn't work out. But it's the thought that counts, right?

3. Writing nice comments on all their Instagram posts is how you keep your friendship alive and strong.

4. You are constantly updating them on your life even though literally nothing major has happened.

5. But of course, you still supply them with as much drama as humanly possible.

6. You bring up how much you wish you were back at school at least once a week.

7. You often reminisce on your favorite times at school together just to get you through the pain of being apart.

8. When you're not talking 24/7, you're tagging each other in memes that probably have to do with "that one time at school."

9. You always think about how much more fun your plans would be if they were there with you.

10. The anticipation of your next reunion is like Christmas Eve and school getting canceled on a snow day combined.

11. You often wonder how you possibly will survive this summer without them.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
