11 Signs You Went To Passion 2017

If you're anything like me, Passion 2017 at the Georgia Dome was life-changing.

If you went to Passion:

1. You freaked when Carrie Underwood surprised us all during the hype part of Crowder's Lift Your Head Weary Sinner.

And then sang Something In The Water. It doesn't get much better than that.

2. You were pumped when we all got The Jesus Bible for free.

Need a say more? Receiving a free study Bible with commentary from such highly respected Passion speakers is a once in a lifetime gift. Also, the "Passion 2017 Dome Edition" printed on the back cover made them especially unique to our conference. You know you guard it with your life.

3. You got to hear all of your favorite Christian artists.

Kristian Stanfill, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Matt Redman, David Crowder, and the Passion Band were all there, and it was amazing. They played all of the classics like "How He Loves," "10,000 Reasons," and "How Great Is Our God," as well as new ones like "I Ran Out Of That Grave."

4. The session speakers really made you think about how your life aligned with what they were saying.

Their topics were so relatable and powerful that the Holy Spirit was able to stir up conviction inside all of us through their words. From an interview with people that have a powerful testimony to passionate messages that hit home for all of us.

5. Louie Giglio's presentation of the Gospel brought reality to the power of Christ and how the story doesn't stop at the cross.

His illustration of him sitting in a car and asking God to drive addressed the issue of control that so many of us face.

6. You felt like a genius when you figured out that the stage was in the shape of a cross.

And it blew your mind.

7. Worshipping with 50,000 plus people your age reminded you that our generation has not forgotten God.

So many times our generation is told that we are an age that does not care about God, but it's nice knowing that we are not alone in our walk with Christ as a college student. The presence of God was so evident in the room, and it was amazing experiencing a glimpse of what Heaven will be like.

8. It was so much fun being a part of the End It Movement, and you can't wait until February 23rd.

We are in it to end it. You wore your red x proudly and kept it on as long as it could.

9. Your community group was so fun.

In these groups, you had the opportunity to meet new friends and unpack the messages we heard together in deep discussions. Also, shout out to #purplerain2017!

10. Video chatting with a guy from space was amazing.

There truly are not enough words to describe how fantastic this moment was when we were able to hear from a man currently in space and how his walk with The Lord has grown since he went.

11. You can't wait for Passion 2018!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
