Ludlow, Massachusetts is your typical small town in New England. However, we have some distinctive qualities that set us apart from any other town. If you can relate to the majority of these 10 signs you definitely grew up in Ludlow.

1. You played soccer at one point or another in your life.

There's a reason we are known for soccer. Whether you played in high school or as a little kid you definitely have been to a game and there's definitely a chance you saw a team compete for a state championship title.

2. If you aren’t Portuguese, one of your friends is.

Not only does it seem like everyone is Portuguese, but everyone seems to somehow be related to one another as well.

3. You’re still sad about Double D Dairy Bar closing.

Everyone knows Blue Goo was the best.

4. You don’t think twice when you see someone wearing Crocs or Gators.

Chances are you own a pair too and know how comfortable they actually are.

5. You can name at least three people who think they are rappers.

You've probably even given them the benefit of the doubt and checked out their SoundCloud.

6. You know Friendly’s Parking Lot is not just a parking lot but a meetup spot.

Chances are you've even driven there just to see what people were up to or actually hung out there. It's confusing why a parking lot is basically a hangout spot, but if you're from Ludlow, then you completely understand.

7. You've made some awkward and uncomfortable memories at Festa from your younger days, many you probably don't want to remember.

We all had those awkward middle school and high school days when we all thought we were so cool walking around and doing laps, right?

8. You either went to Whitney Summer Camp or worked there.

If you didn’t go or work there, you can definitely name people who do work there. Who wouldn't want to spend all their summer in a park in the heat?

9. If your first job was in Ludlow it was either at Randall’s, Big Y, McDonald’s, Whitney, the Boys & Girls Club or a family owned restaurant/business.

Living in a small town doesn't leave us with very many options.

10. You recognized everyone's name at graduation.

You probably could give a fact about every single person you graduated with and talked to the majority of your class at least once in your life.

11. All you wanted was to escape the bubble, yet now that you have you find yourself missing it.

I think we can all agree there really is no place like home.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
