I feel that you get half your traits from your father and your mother too! However, this Sunday is to celebrate our wonderful father's out there. I am glad that I get to have the best dad out there and he is pretty cool too, I guess.

1. You work three jobs... My father also works three jobs... I think I finally figure out why I love to work so much.

My dad said to one of his friends about me working three jobs, "She is her father's daughter... no denying it."

2. You are both so stubborn about everything

I still have yet to fathom how my mother actually has been able to deal with that from both my dad, my sister, and I for all these years.

3. Everyone seems to know both of you equally! I get your Jeff's daughter, aren't you? I believe it happens also for him too.

It might not happen for him; however, it always seems to happen to me.

4. You both have no secrets from each other... I know my dad better than most kids know their dad probably and the same for my dad.

Secretly, my dad is one of my best friends. Alongside, my mother, we tell each other everything.

5. Your dad loves the same shows as you do... so you have to wait for each of you to be home.

If one of us won't be home, we watch the shows separately, we just can't delete the show and tell each other what happen until we both watch them.

6. Both you and your dad are some of the caring and funniest people you have ever met.

My mother said that my dad's caring nature is one of the main reason that she fell in love with him.

7. I care about my friends and my father cares for his friends also.

My dad taught me at a young age that you always have to help your friends and you care for them like you care for them like family. On to my next point...

8. A family does not need to be blood-related to be considered family.

My parents, especially, my father has many friends that we considered family friends. I considered a lot of my good friends to be on that level. For example, this is my neighbor, Mr. Wolfe and he is more like my grandfather than anything.

9. He's always there for your family.

My sister moved to Texas three years ago, being the man he is, my dad flew down to Chicago to help my sister drive a day to live down there with her now fiancé. I am always there for my family when they need me.

10. You both have a favorite bar and grille where all the bartenders know you and your dad super well.

My dad has the nickname, Commish and I went there a few weeks ago with a friend. When I said I needed my tap, my name on the tap was, "lil commish." That's saying a lot. Yogi's Bar & Grille is Amazing and the people are pretty cool.

11. "Always Laugh, Be Kind, and Love Hard!"

There was a never dull moment in our house when I was growing up.

Thanks for being the best dad out there, Dad! I wouldn't ask for any other guy out to be my dad! My dad is the most amazing man I have ever met.

Love,

Cindy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
