When people think of their childhood, they think of where they grew up and what they experienced in their town. These experiences and fond memories shape people into who they are and their actions. Sometimes it is just nice to share the funny nuances with others from your hometown. Liberty Township is a special place filled with so many fantastic adventures.
1. Many of your summer nights were spent at the Holiday Auto Theater
This is where you saw all of your favorite movies and you got to stay up extra late during those triple features! Plus, there was the added bonus of drive-in popcorn and watching old-fashioned commercials.
2. You probably went to a homemade haunted house on Halloween.
These places were the best! There was nothing better than walking down the street and seeing a backyard haunted house set up. They never handed out candy, though...
3. You didn't know if Liberty Township was even a city.
You were surrounded by so many bigger cities that it just seemed so small. It wasn't until you traveled to a real small town and realized you lived in a large town.
4. You did not have your own zip code.
Liberty Township never got its own post office, so everyone had to steal Hamilton's zip code. It made Liberty Township feel like it wasn't even a town.
5.Kings Island was your first and best job.
You started working here when you were 15 and continued into your college years. You made so many memories as a child, and you made much more as an associate.
6. There were so many different malls to choose from.
You had Tri-County Mall, Kenwood, The Green, Liberty Center, etc. Even with all of these options, it was impossible to choose a favorite one.
7. A tornado siren meant nothing.
No matter how many times the local news anchor told you to head downstairs, you never did because tornadoes never touched down in your area. You would sit there casually and wait until the sirens stopped.
8. The Cone was the best ice cream shop.
They had the best ice cream and the coolest design. Every sports team had their award ceremony here, and I always ordered the lime swirl.
9. Maud Hughes Road was scary, yet you always wanted to believe the legend.
You knew a guy, who knew a guy, who knew a guy that said weird things happened on the bridge one night.
10. You had a large list of local colleges to choose from.
All of your friends went to these schools, but you went to a school at least two hours away.
11. You will always miss it.
You will always miss Liberty Township and all of your memories will live on, no matter how far you try to go.
