1) You know that "I'll be right there" could really take an eternity.
While it isn't a deal breaker to drive a car. A true country girl does like a truck! Maybe it's in our blood or something?
2) You plan life events around the planting and harvesting calendar.
Of course Dad made it to most of your school functions. He was able to take off when absolutely necessary; however, it can be expected that during the fall and early spring that he will be out the house by sunrise and in way past dinner. Whether he is in a tractor or hauling to a grain bin, he'll work from sun rise to sun set.
3) Your first driving lesson was in a field or a pasture.
Chances are that you learned in an old truck way before your fifteenth birthday. Maybe you were dodging cow patties or zooming through the dirt roads. By the time you got your license you were a seasoned pro!
4) You probably played with toy tractors as much as with Barbies.
True fact. As girlie as I am and as many Barbies as I owned, I had a nice set of big green toy tractors.
5) You learned at an early age not to get too attached to the livestock
Maybe you went with Daddy out in the pasture.
6) Your next door neighbor lived at least a mile away.
All my life my friends have laughed at me every time I say neighbor. While their next door neighbor lives.
