ITALIA!! When people ask me what my ethnicity is, I say Italian loud and proud. There are certain things that Italian families do, and I would not trade them for the entire world... These are just a few signs you will understand if you are Italian!

1) THE FOOD

Nothing beats Italian food... What makes it better is that there is a lot of it... And just for the record... It is more than just pasta... But there is a lot of pasta... A lot of pasta.

2) THE INFAMOUS "SAUCE VS GRAVY" DEBATE

One of the most difficult questions of all time... At least in an Italian household! Some people call it sauce, other people call it gravy... But hey, its all just as delicious!

3) YOU ALWAYS GET CALLED OUT FOR TALKING WITH YOUR HANDS

It's really just a habit, like we don't even realize that we are doing... But we're doing it!

4) YOU HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE IN YOUR FAMILY, THAT YOU DON'T KNOW EVERYONE

You can walk into a family reunion, and meet some people for the first time... Even though they are in your family!

5) WHEN THE WHOLE FAMILY GETS TOGETHER, IT CAN GET A LITTLE LOUD...

And by a little loud, I mean really loud.

6) YOU HAVE LISTENED TO FRANK SINATRA AND DEAN MARTIN A LOT... EVEN IF YOU HAD NO IDEA WHO THEY WERE

The family passes their music through their generations!

7) YOU HAVE GOTTEN INTO AN ARGUMENT WITH SOMEONE OVER THE PRONUNCIATION OF MOZZARELLA AND RICOTTA

Trust me... There is a correct way to say both of those words.

8) YOU EAT THE SAME MEAL ON EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY

Sunday is the day for sauce... or gravy. Whatever floats your boat!

9) YOU HAVE A VOWEL AT THE END OF YOUR LAST NAME...

99.9% of the time, if you have a vowel at the end of your last name... You are super Italian.

10) YOUR FAMILY COOKING IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD

Anything that your grandma makes... Is better than any restaurant in the world.

11) YOUR FAMILY IS YOUR FAVORITE GROUP OF PEOPLE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD

Even though you may not know everyone, you know that you are loved by every single person in your big crazy family... and you wouldn't want it any other way.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
