Living in Virginia is objectively the greatest and most euphoric feeling in the world. It's too bad "Loving Virginia" isn't a major, because you would be on that in a heartbeat. You've already cut out the heads in family photos and replaced them with tiny Virginia's, and your first child, boy or girl, will be named Virginia. You weep when forced to look at any map that includes more than just Virginia, and you regularly make change.org petitions begging Virginia to secede from the Union. Just when you thought Virginia couldn't get any better, you stumbled across this article, and now your finger is going raw from preemptively spamming the "share" button about 11 signs you know are from Virginia.
1. You live in Fairfax County and have seen this sign
As someone who lives in Virginia and recognizes this sign, I totally see this sign when I'm visiting Fairfax County. Plus, it's courtesy of fairfaxcounty.gov, so you know it's a local favorite!
2. You pass by this on your way home
No drive home in Virginia is complete without witnessing this cultural touchstone. You bleed "288 North to 64," but just don't call it "NoVA!"
3. Everyone you know has seen this sign
If you went to public school in Virginia, you probably heard some great lunchroom stories about this one right here. The yellow one in the back is usually mentioned, but never the subject. Shout out to everyone in Chase City!
4. Your childhood included seeing this sign all the time
It's right by the Dulles airport, which is in Virginia!
5. You know you're a true Virginian if you recognize this
Let me guess, you're from somewhere that's not Virginia? Well then, I can't even be bothered to tell you the message behind this sign. Out of state folks just don't get it!
6. You can tell that, without a doubt, this is from Virginia
Classic alert!
7. You don't have a potty mouth because you grew up with this
Probably the easiest one to recognize on the list, because if you're a True Virginian like me, you haven't said a swear word ever. This is what's known as "textbook Virginia!"
8. All good, law-abiding Virginians have this one committed to memory
I know it's a law Ican live with!
9. You might not believe me on this next one
As much as I love Virginia, sometimes it can get a little kooky, like this oddball. 14 "kilometers?" Only in Virginia, am I right?
10. We've all had to deal with this one
I know, "don't remind me!"
11. This last one might be a little too obvious
Real Virginians won't have any problems with this one!
