Most people have walked into a door or tripped over their own two feet at least once in their lives. But for those of us who struggle with gracefulness on a daily basis, avoiding these obstacles is an ongoing challenge
1. Stairs are hard.
Your No. 1 mode of transportation is falling down the stairs (and if you’re like I am, you probably trip UP the stairs, too).
2. Stains. Everywhere.
People can tell what you just ate based on the stains from the food that landed ON you instead of IN you. Having a Tide-To-Go stick on you at all times is a must.
3. Doors are NOT your friends.
I mean come on, who puts handles on a door that you’re supposed to push open?
4. You are your own worst enemy.
You would think by tripping over things and falling down all the time you would be a threat to others, but really the biggest threat you pose is to yourself.
5. You probably have a nickname like “Grace” or “Gracie”.
By this point, your friends and family have DEFINITELY noticed your lack of ability to put one foot in front of the other without tripping, resulting in a nickname that mocks your lack of gracefulness.
6. You’re constantly looking around you to check if others saw your latest tumble.
Nothing quite compares to that sigh of relief when you trip in the hallway, but realize that no one was around to see it.
7. Being trusted with fragile objects is totally nerve-racking.
What do you mean I have to carry this glass vase all the way upstairs?! I really hoping it doesn't shatter.
8. “Hand-eye coordination” is a foreign concept.
Catching or throwing a ball, running, and watching out for others at the same time? Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen ...
9. Walking in a straight line is impossible; even when sober.
Putting one foot in front of the other is actually a lot harder than it seems, okay? Don’t judge.
10. Poor weather just adds to the daily struggle.
Rain, ice, snow and wind make you fall down even more than usual. Mother Nature needs to JUST. NOT.
Just remember this: If you’re a klutz, you’re not alone; there are plenty of us out there. We just like to test the law of gravity a little more often than most people.
