How many people have you seen asleep in weird places?

11 Signs It's the Second Half of the Semester

Midterms are upon us. Some have taken them, some are in the middle of them, and others are hours away from them. Whomever you are, you know the feeling. The feeling that you can slack off for the rest of the semester and it'll either be fine or end really poorly. It is just that time of year. There is no motivation to do much of anything, especially as the temperature drops. If you are feeling anything like me, the struggle is real.

1. You go to class only for the attendance points and not actually the lecture.

2. All those "required" class readings? Yeah not happening.

3. You usually rock the "haven't showered in a few days" getup.

4. Most of your assignments, if not all, are getting done only the night before.

5. You have created so much downtime doing nothing that you start a new Netflix show.

6. You genuinely don't know where your textbooks are now.

7. In between classes, you do anything but work.

8. You feel so overwhelmed that you don't feel overwhelmed anymore.

9. Your body is 90% caffeine.

10. Your study habits include Quizlet and prayers.

11. All of your friends are equally stressed and on the verge of a breakdown, so it is okay.

This second half of the semester may not always been sunshine and roses, but at least we're almost there. Halloween is right around the corner, and Thanksgiving is only a month away. We can do it!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
