At one point or another, we have all had an "emo" or "punk" phase. And whilst others have been successful in moving past it and creating happy lives, without thinking about that phase, there are others who have those moments where the littlest thing triggers them. If you happen to agree with any one of these, maybe it's time for you to think: Am I still an emo kid at heart?
- Every time you hear the first key of “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance, you find yourself stopping whatever you’re doing and look out into the nonexistent camera like one does on The Office, before breaking out into song.
- You still have all your old band t-shirts and despite the fact that you don’t actually wear any of them anymore, you still find yourself refusing to get rid of them.
- Although you’ve surpassed your days of begging your mom to buy you something from Hot Topic, you always casually walk in, reminiscing of the days when going to this store was the highlight of your mall trip. Or slightly freak out when you see that Blink-182 has a new shirt out.
- There’s a part of you that secretly wishes to dye your hair all the colors of the rainbow and not worry about what other people might have to say about it.
- “I chime in with a--” Let’s be honest. You finished that lyric and then proceeded to continue on belting out the rest of the song.
- The holy trinity doesn’t just represent the Father, Son, and Holy spirit but Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Panic! At The Disco.
- Like #1, you still do the same thing to The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside.”
- A part of you died when MCR broke up, and another part of you was rejuvenated when you realized that Fall Out Boy was finally off hiatus.
- Despite not having any or as many as others might, you still know all the names to the different types of piercings.
- You wanted or still want to be in a band.
- Part of you is still slightly upset that it's nine in the afternoon and your eyes aren't the size of the moon.
