Sometimes, being at home for the summer stinks. Without the exciting atmosphere of college or for me personally, study abroad, life is a little boring. It's especially awful when your family just moved, or none of your friends are home with you, rendering you hopelessly alone. I am definitely counting down the days until my internship starts!

1. A lot of quality time with one family member

My mom is amazing and I love her, but I can only crash so many tennis lunches and other events where the mean age is 40.

2. Desperate for your siblings to hang out with you.

I have asked my sisters to pay attention to me way more times than I am proud of.

3. Boredom

I was bored after being home for two days. It's definitely a huge adjustment from college to home life.

4. Shopping

Nothing else to do? Wander the mall and spend your parents money. Totally cheers you up.

5. Movies

Nobody can see that you're a loser in a dark theatre... unless you are the only one in there. It's actually pretty relaxing to see a movie by yourself, I highly recommend it.

6. Anything to get out of the house

"Mom do you need me to get the groceries?" "Oh I can pick her up from school!" "Yeah I'll come to the game with you!" Literally I will do anything to get out of the house.

7. Nagging the one person you know endlessly

If you are lucky enough to have one friend in town like I am, you make sure you spend as much time as possible with them because they're all you have.

8. Obsessive Netflix binges

I've pretty much gone through a season a day while I've been home and I am totally fine with it.

9. New hobbies

To keep myself busy I have been practicing new skills and doing LOTS of arts and crafts.

10. Whining

Mooooooommmmm I'm boreddddddd

11. Wallowing in self pity

Being home is hard; okay?

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
