Finals are about be done. Projects are so close to being handed in. It's almost time to go home. While I will miss school, I'm ready for the food at home. There's nothing else like the places in Brooklyn.
Here are some spots I can't wait to go back to:
1. Oasis
Oasis is the perfect spot to grab breakfast if you feel like waking up early on a Saturday morning or to grab some cheese fries with your friends when you're suddenly hungry. I will definitely be stopping in here when I'm home for the summer.
2. Mauer's
I used to pass this place countless times until my friend introduced me to their chicken caesar wrap. Life was never the same since then.
3. Pizza Emporium
I hope that this is still the place everyone comes after their baseball games in Marine Park. I used to come here with my friends after school or on Saturday afternoons when my friends and I were bored.
4. Roll N Roaster
Where would I be without Roll N Roaster? I wouldn't be the person that I am today. There's really no better place than one that promises you that "you can have cheez on anything you pleez." If you go to Roll N Roaster and didn't see someone that you know, did you really go to Roll N Roaster?
5. Brennan & Carr
There are two types of people: The ones that go to Roll N Roaster and the ones that go to Brennan & Carr. Both are known for their roast beef sandwiches. Then, there's me. I go to both and eat whatever I want.
6. Pronto Pizza
My friend and I used to come in here at least three times a week during the summers when we were younger. There's a pool right next to here that we'd hang out at; when we got hungry, this was our go to spot. They have fried calzones. Need I say more?
7. L&B Spumoni Gardens
This will be the first place I go to when I'm home. I want to eat half a tray of pizza and then a large Spumoni ice. My body is ready.
8. China New Star
This is the place that all families go after someone's graduation, confirmation, baptism, birthday, dance recital, award ceremony and everything in between. My grandma always pushes for us to eat here.
9. Jin Sushi and Thai
Yes, the little place underneath the train station is actually good. I've only been there once, but I loved it. If I'm unable to get a slice of pizza in my mouth, then sushi will have to take its place.
10. Dolly's Ices
Though their ices are good, they wouldn't let my friend sample an ice flavor (and weren't too nice about it either). How am I supposed to know if I'll like those weird flavors you have? Anyway, their ices are perfect for when it's hot out.
11. La Villa
Their wraps are everything you need in life. I don't go here too often because if I did, I would be eating pizza, wraps and all of their appetizers seven days a week.
These places remind me of home and I can't wait to indulge!
