The world can be a pretty dark place, which has caused a major increase in pessimistic thought towards life around us. Whether a problem is big or small, many people, myself included, are beginning to lose their positive outlook towards life. So, without further ado, here are 11 things to remind you of the good in the world:

1. Otters hold hands when they sleep so they won't drift apart.

Otters really take the buddy system to the next level. Cuddle buddies for life!

2. Over 13,600 lbs of trash have been cleared from the ocean since January.

Thanks to the efforts made by 4Ocean, each time a bracelet is bought, a pound of trash are cleared from the ocean making a better and safe home for the marine animals.

3. In 100 years, literacy Rates have increased from 23% to 89%.

And that number is just an indication that it'll rise even more! If you're ever in need for an escape, a good book is a great way to go.

4. Laughter is universal.

Come on! Who doesn't love a good laugh? So, no matter where you are, or what language you speak you can always have a connection with someone through laughter.

5. It's scientifically proven that dogs love their humans.

HOW CUTE.

6. Moana is on Netflix.

Feeling a little stressed with the current situation of the world? Netflix has the answer in the form of the best Hawaiian princess, Moana. Plus, as a bonus, Moana actually has some good life messages throughout the film.

"Sometimes the world seems against you/ The journey may leave a scar/ But scars can heal and reveal/ Just where you are" - Gramma Tala

7. It's finally Fall.

It's fall! Season of pumpkins, hella comfy sweaters, and warm drinks... what could be better?

8. Somebody... somewhere... is having the absolute best day of their life.

No matter the rough situations we face as individuals on a daily, try to remember that there is someone out there who is having their best day, or just got the best news. Someone is out there living there best life, seeing the good things the world is offering them.

9. Thousands of trees will grow this year, due to the forgetfulness of squirrels.

Yes, this may seem silly, but the fact is the more trees grow, the more oxygen we have, and the healthier the planet is.

10. Somewhere in the world, a baby is discovering bubbles for the first time.

What could possibly be more purely good than a baby playing with bubbles for the first time?

11. Zoos often give cheetahs a therapy dog to ease their anxious tendencies

Yup, Cheetahs get hella stressed too, I guess even cats can be dog people.

So... If you're a little (OR a ton) stressed or upset with the world right now, I get it... I'm right there with you. But take a look at the simple things and remember there are things that still make this place super awesome... and if that doesn't work go hug someone you love cause that should do the trick!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
