11 Reasons You Should Eat At McDonald's Occasionally

I'm Lovin' It (sometimes).

11 Reasons You Should Eat At McDonald's Occasionally
We Heart It

When I was younger, I used to eat at McDonald's all of the time, but when I started to eat healthier about 4ish years ago, I pledged off of the place forever... until a few weeks ago. It was super late at night, my girlfriend and I were super hungry, so we begrudgingly went to the McDonald's right down the road from our house and have been back four or five times since then. It made me remember how great some of their food is (most of which is listed below in no particular order), and I only regretted some of it!

1. The fries

Golden delicious, fried to perfection, salty sticks of deliciousness that have little to know competition.

2. The Big Macs

I did get caught up in the huge money-grab that is the "limited time" Grand Mac and Mac Jr. sandwiches plainly because Big Macs are just really freaking good, no matter their size.

3. The "Special" Big Mac Sauce

I wanted to highlight this separately because it's just so damn good. Ordering it on the side to dip your fries in is so the move, and I read that they're going to start selling the sauce by the bottle. SCORE!

4. The McFlurry

Whether you get M&Ms or Oreos in it or just have it plain, this ice cream concoction is often worth the wait, unless the machine is broken. P.S. the spoon-straw hybrid that they serve it with isn't actually a straw at all... They connect that to the mixer machine to blend the McFlurry or something. The More You Know.

5. The Coca-Cola

Have you guys ever noticed that the Coke is just better at McDonald's than anywhere else, even compared to bottles of Coke? Like is it something that they do with the flavoring syrup, do they add extra carbonation somehow, or what??

6. THE HASH BROWNS

Now that breakfast is served all day at McDonald's you can enjoy these uncomfortably delicious potato treats ANYtime!!!

7. The hotcakes

Wow, where do I even being with these things. They are just SO. GOOD. So light and fluffy and they absorb the fantastic, sugary syrup so well. DELISH.

8. The McGriddle

What you get as the filling of the sandwich is kind of irrelevant because al that matters are the two mind-blowingly tasty pancake-like sandwich ends that have little syrup pockets backed into them?? Ingenious.

9. The chicken options

All of the chicken meals at McDonald's are honestly really tasty. Fried, grilled, or spicy, you really can't go wrong, except for the McChicken and the McNuggets (yeah, I said it. SUE ME.).

10. The toys

I know this isn't something you eat, but it is sometimes worth the trip just for the toy. I still have a few of them that I got when I was a kid laying around my mom's house. I can't bring myself to throw them away because they are honestly really cool. Remember when they gave away little handheld video games? Or those really nicely made, glass "Shrek 3" cups (that you had to pay a little extra for but were totally worth it). I've heard that they recently had a talking Minions toy that sounds like it's saying the F-word when you push the button. Unplanned Comedy Gold.

11. The fries... again

The fries are just... really good. No more explanation is necessary but another gif is. You're welcome.

Now, I know you want to immediately go out to your local McDonald's and grab all of these delicious things, but try to pace yourself. They still aren't the healthiest or best place out their to eat at. I just don't like that some people just won't eat at McDonald's because they think that they're better than that. It's just food, guys, and pretty good food at that. No need to get elitist about this too. However, with all of that said, don't let the guy from "Super Size Me" be your food role model.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
