1. Mums

Mums are a huge part of the fall season. If you see pumpkins sitting outside someone's house, they are more than likely surrounded by mums. I am not sure why, but when I see this I know Fall is here! So, if you are seeing mums around your neighborhood, then you know Fall has arrived!

2. Corn Mazes Are Opening

Corn Mazes are another essential part of Fall. Fall is just not complete without a corn maze somewhere. My favorite thing is going to the corn maze with friends during the season and challenging each other to see who could get out first!

3. Hot Apple Cider

Once you start seeing stores and restaurants selling hot apple cider you know the fall season is upon you. What is better than going out on a chilly fall day and being able to order hot apple cider at your favorite coffee shop. The best part of hot apple cider is being able to go to the pumpkin patch and sip on some cider while you pick out pumpkins!

4. Pumpkin Patches

Who doesn't love when pumpkin patches start to open. If is probably my most favorite part of the fall season. I just love going with friends to pick out pumpkins and play fall games and once again drink hot apple cider.

5. Falling Leaves

Another sign that fall is upon us is falling leaves. Once the leaves starting changing colors and they cover the ground. Then you know that the cold weather is not to far behind and you know you can start putting up your fall decorations.

6. Hot Chocolate

Once you start ordering hot chocolate when you are out or making it at home then you know it is fall. Yes, some people, like myself, drink hot chocolate all the time but I consume the most hot chocolate during the fall and winter seasons. Who doesn't love drinking something that makes them feel warm and cozy inside?!

7. Caramel Apples

What food best describes fall more than caramel apples?! Caramel apples to me, are the second best part of fall. I love going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the best looking caramel apples and digging into them right away!

8. Sweaters

Nothing is better than getting up in the morning and founding out that it is cold out so you can wear a sweater. I love how cozy sweaters are and how soft they can be. I love summer and all, but I can't wear cute cozy sweaters when its 90 degrees outside!

9. Football Season

Once high school football season has begun, you know fall is in the air. There is nothing better than going out to a home high school football games on a Friday night. While there maybe you could buy a caramel apple and some hot chocolate like I mentioned above.

10. Bonfires

Bonfires are another essential part of fall. You can't have a bonfire when its 85 degrees outside, but when its 65 degrees you can! The best part about having a bonfire, is getting to sit around it will friends and talk about old memories, while making s'mores.

11. Last but certainly not least... PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING!

The best way to know for sure if fall is here, is if you find pumpkin spice flavor everywhere. It could be a pumpkin spice latte, or pumpkin spice cheerios or even pumpkin spice applesauce. Once you start seeing these things around then that is a key sign of fall!

All of these items are the best part of fall. They are all sure signs that it is here. There is no doubt you are living in the season if you are finding yourself doing these things or finding these thing. For me, I have already checked these off my fall to do list. So, maybe you should start too. The sooner you start the sooner fall starts for you!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads.
