11 Reasons I Wish My Boyfriend Was Here
Life Hack

As those of who know me are aware, I am in Connecticut, studying at the University of Bridgeport. I love it here! I have opportunities all around me and helpful professors. I have a job and an internship. I have a second life out here. But there is just one problem, my boyfriend is not a part of it. I see plenty of girls walking around campus with their phone parallel to their face giving virtual kisses to their boos. And I am sure that some of you or someone you know can empathize with the struggle of living apart, so I made a list of the most urgent reasons I wish he was here. No, it is not all not lovey-dovey. I do wish he was here to pinch for all of the times he has aggravated me on Skype. Hopefully, you can find some solace in knowing you are not alone.

1. Movie dates

We really enjoy going out to the movies. We get some snacks or some ICEEs and we enjoy a theatre movie. Or, if we are feeling nostalgic, we cuddle up on the couch and put something on. Without him hear the best we can do it watch the same movie at the same time on video chat, and as you can imagine it does not compare.

2. Cuddles

On a bad day, all I want to do is cuddle! Am I right ladies? The coziness and the comfort and protective feeling can make me feel better instantly! Sometimes he gets a mouth full of hair...but that's his problem..

3. Wrestling

On the contrary to cuddling is the wrestling. He's six foot and I am five foot so I am certainly the underdog but don't let that fool you. I can win. In fact I have, twice! Wrestling is so fun, we don't hurt each other but it is a friendly competition that I miss dearly. He should not forget that I can kick his a**.

4. Ice Cream

I have no one to sit down and pig out on a whole gallon of ice cream with! Enough said, right? We are ice cream fanatics. Although we do enjoy different kinds it is for the better because then we don't have to share. I miss laying around with our faces in some Turkey Hill.

5. Annoying him

All I need to say is that there are not enough oppurtunities to piss him off over Skype, especially with that damn hangup button. If he were here, I culd do do much more damage.

6. Butts

Okay, let me release my inner Tina. I LOVE BUTTS! And a litttle TMI, my mans got a booty, and oh do I miss it!

7. Pigging Out

Sitting at my desk and eating chips, ice cream, chocolate and snacks is not satisfying what-so-ever without my boyfriend doing it with me! I feel much more guilty doing it alone. I wish he were here to gain weight with me..

8. Love

Simply put, I want to hold his hand and feel his love. It is very hard to feel love over the computer.

9. My Best Friend

Although he can never be one of my girlfriends, he is definetley my best friend. He is the first person I go to for everything and if he was just here I could have my best friend at my side everyday! Why must you be so far?!

10. Fixing His Hair

His hair is curly and thick and crazy and it is my soul purpose, the reason I was born, to fix it a minimum of 25 times a day. I wish he was here so I could touch his hair and fix it! Do you know what it is like looking at the computer screen focused on that one strand that is out of place???

11. Batman To My Robin

Lastly, he is the batman to my robin. There is no one Id rather be with, sing with, dance with or laugh with. I wish he was here just to enjoy him!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
