Sometimes in college, we have to take a break from the fun and the partying to crack open a textbook and start studying. The best and worst place to do this? The library. A place where one might have only gone in high school to borrow a required book, the library becomes a weekly (or daily) stop during college, for more reasons than one. Once you get there, you'll most likely see everyone and their mother within five seconds. Focusing on homework becomes a difficult task. However, the library can be the perfect place to catch up on the five StudyEdge videos you've missed or write the nine-page paper due at 8 am. Here are a few reasons why a college student goes to the library:
1. To get Starbucks
I'm convinced 99% of Starbucks' profits come from the University of Florida's campus.
2. To gossip with your friends
Someone is bound to bring up last night's social if you're all sitting together, scrolling through Instagram pictures.
3. To be facey
No one's going out and everyone's going to the library? Say no more. You'll be there in 10 with a full-face of makeup.
4. To online shop
To study for my microeconomics exam or to put 50 items in my cart on Amazon?
5. To look studious
I promise I do other stuff besides eat, sleep, and go out. Really.
6. To see a certain someone
"He goes to the library at 3 on Tuesdays, so I go to the library at 3 on Tuesdays."
7. To avoid working out
Yeah, I totally would go to the gym I just really have to study for my exam that's two months away.
8. To bother your friends who are actually studying
Just because they have a Calculus test tomorrow, doesn't mean you do.
9. To take a break from your dorm
Sometimes you just need to get out of your cluttered, odd-smelling dorm room and the library is the closest place to escape to.
10. To have an excuse for not going out
You love to go out but ocassionally need to give your poor body a break, and "studying" is always the best answer.
