For the past two years, my friends and I have been arguing about Wawa and Sheetz. We keep going back and forth about which one is better, and we all know the answer: it's Wawa. I have been to both and have tried a variety of things on both menus. No matter how many times I go to Sheetz, Wawa has my heart and always will because of these 11 reasons.

1. Wawa has more locations.

Sheetz has 500 locations while Wawa has 720. The more the merrier, right?

2. Hoagiefest.

Do I even need to say anything else?

3. Wawa has more employees.

Sheetz has about 17,000 employees while Wawa has about 30,000. More jobs are good.

4. Wawa has a more modern and welcoming design inside.

When you first walk into Wawa, it has much brighter colors and feels more open. When you first walk into Sheetz, it feels very dark due to all of the dark red throughout the store. Overall, Wawa just feels happier.

5. You get to specifically pick what you want or don't want on your food.

Yes, at both places you can do this. However, you get to pick exactly what you want at Wawa. When I went to Sheetz, I wanted a cheese steak with no green peppers. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to say I didn't want them like I could have at Wawa.

6. The gas is cheaper.

At two locations in MD (in the same area), the gas is one cent cheaper at Wawa today. Usually, the gas is cheaper by 5-10 cents.

7. The food is healthier.

A small order of mac n cheese at Wawa is 320 calories. A small order of mac n cheese at Sheetz is 590. Sheetz may give you more food, but it is worse for you.

8. They have a bigger selection of pre-made food.

If you don't want something made at Wawa, they have stuff that is already pre-made. Sheetz does, too, but they have a much smaller area, and they are almost always out of it when I am there. Wawa has breakfast sandwiches, pretzels, wraps, mini wraps, salads, and so much more.

9. There is a Wawa, Pennsylvania.

Both of them may have been founded in PA, but there isn't a Sheetz Township now is there? No, there isn't.

10. They are offering free coffee on Wednesdays the entire month of July.

Their coffee is delicious, so you're welcome.

11. Wawa has two mascots.

They have a goose and a hoagie. Sheetz doesn't even have one mascot.

I rest my case. Go to Wawa!

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2023, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.

Christmas is on the brain during the month of December, not finals! How do you expect me to study?

Christmas is literally so close. We can almost taste it. But there is just one thing standing between you and the big day: FINALS. It's not the studying, lack of sleep, last minute cram sessions or crappy food intake that is the worst... but the fact that you cannot focus because, well, CHRISTMAS. How do professors expect you to focus when Christmas is soooo soon. For all my fellow Christmas lovers out there, I feel your pain.
