11 Reasons Why I Want To Return To College ASAP

So writing this article is so out of what would use to be my element. In my younger years, I would dread the concept of having to return to school. I didn't want to deal with anyone, or anything. Especially when it came to my senior year of high school, the "senioritis" definitely was in tact to such a great extent. Although, college was an entire new ballpark. Yes, I had my fair share of struggles and such. There were times where I would cry and beg to go home, where I would literally scream of frustration from the heavy workload I was given. But despite the hard times that came along with my adjustment to college, there were so many unforgettable moments and experiences that have only made me more ecstatic and excited to go back to my second home away from my original home.

1. Seeing my best friends.

Thankfully I have found a solid core group of amazing ladies who I can call my best friends. They are there for me through thick and thin. We laugh together until we are rolling on the floor, and we shed tears when it was time to say goodbye for the summer. We ate countless meals together, and they are my go-to buddies when we go out on the weekends. I can share all my secrets with these amazing ladies without them judging me in any way, shape or form.

2. Going out on the weekends.

Don't get me wrong—seeing my friends back at home is so much fun. I love reliving old memories, and going to the familiar places that I have grown up with for the past 20 years of my life. Although, there are so many fun places to go on weekends when I'm at school. Granted, I also have a lot more freedom than while I am at home. The night clubs, the super fun parties, and even restaurants for a bite to eat while bonding are some of the most amazing times that I definitely have had.

3. My sorority.

Oh my God. Where do I even get started with this one? Pretty sure I've written several articles on it to begin with. My sorority is one of the best things that has happened to me and that I've been blessed with thus far in my college experience. It has granted me a giant group of beautiful girls from the inside out that I can genuinely call my sisters. We get to not only have fun socially, but also participate in some unreal philanthropic events that truly change aspects of the world for the better. Another place that I can call my home.

4. Living away from home.

I love my parents more than anything, but living in a dorm isn't as bad as it sounds. Besides not physically sleeping in your big old bed back home, you get to chose to live with your friends. It's honestly like a sleepover every night! Living away from home also grants you the freedom of time in the sense that a curfew doesn't really exist whatsoever. Although, it is very important to manage your time in order to do well in school. I mean, it is the real reason why we are all here in college in the first place. And also, living away from home I feel also helps an individual mature as as an adult.

5. The activities on campus keep me occupied at all times.

When you get to college, there isn't just a big campus filled with absolutely nothing. In fact, there are many ways to get involved. There are clubs that one can join relative to their major, such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, math, English, business. As well, something I am so very excited to be a part of is Relay for Life. Relay for Life as we all know is such a great cause, and raising money for awareness and various cures overwhelm me with happiness.

6. The Big-Little relationship.

Back to the talk about sorority. When you first become a part of it, you are granted someone called your big. The two of you match up and you become part of another family lineage. All the members in your family are so special to you and especially your Big-Little connection. The two of you get to know each other so well, spend an immense amount of time together, and add substance to the meaning of what sisterhood is truly all about. A big is one of the best gifts that a college and a sorority can grant you!

7. My classes.

Call me a nerd, but I cannot wait to get back into the loop of things from an academic standpoint. As I stated earlier on, we are in school for a reason. That reason being to pursue our dreams on the accomplishments we want to gain within the foreseeable future. My classes are amazing as my professors have not only been some of the most inspirational people in my life thus far, but also my classes have given me an honest perspective of what really does spark my interest. In addition, I learn something new within almost each class that I take which only expands my range of knowledge and strengthens my intellectual outlook.

8. Reconnecting with some amazing people in my life.

I cannot wait to see the people who make me smile on a daily basis. Being at college, it is much easier to see familiar faces since you all live on the same campus for the most part. Instead of being 10-20 minutes away per say or having to schedule to hangout days down the road, you can text your friend to meet you at a certain building within the blink of an eye. I'm excited to know how everyone's summer went, what they did, if and where they worked and what they are also looking forward to for the school year to come about. I'm looking forward to the fun times I will experience with some great and inspirational friends.

9. Your guy friends.

As a girl, everyone has one, two, or even three plus close guy friends, don't they? Thankfully I have met such an amazing person in my life who I can vent to about everything in my life, and come to in times of need. He is such a good friend to everyone around campus and always makes me laugh. And luckily, he is my sorority's sweetheart! He is a person that many idolize as he has so many amazing qualities to him, and I am so happy to call him one of my best friends.

10. Semi-formal and formal.

OK, once again this is relative to Greek life. Here me out though, these are such fun times. It's honestly like living prom all over again, but way better. This time around, you are with a huge group of people who you care about rather than just some random individuals. Just like prom, you can pick who you want to be your date or you can go solo! Either way is totally acceptable, and you are guaranteed to have a great time eating, dressing up, and of course, dancing the night away.

11. Being able to truly be myself.

Throughout life, and wherever one goes they are going to sadly experience some judgement from people. However, I really do feel that college is the time for you to be, well, you. You can dress how you want, act in the way that is most comfortable and hang around people who accept you for you. This is an imperative time in one's life for them to figure out what they do and don't like, what they want to do in the present and in the future. College is the time to express the great qualities you have to show off.

Can't wait to go back!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
