11 Reasons Why Mom Knows Best

Moms, you can't live without them. All the love they give, all the opportunities they offer and all the advice that's given. There's no one more important than mom. From day one till the end of time, there is no one loves you the way your mother loves you. Here are a few of the endless reasons why moms are the greatest!

1. She always wants what's best for you.

Listen to her. She hears you, she know what you need and what's best for you. There's a good chance she's already been through the situation you are going through.

2. She has lived her life, made her mistakes and she has learned.

Everyone always wants to "make their own mistakes" but sometimes they aren't worth making. Sometimes it's okay to just take the advice and trust. Again, she wants what's best for you and she knows more than you do.

3. She loves you endlessly, no matter what the circumstances.

She has put an endless amount of time, love and effort into you, her baby. Her joy, her light, her life. She would go to any length to make sure you're happy, safe and okay. Even if you make some mistakes along the way.

4. She is your #1 fan/ supporter/cheerleader.

Ever since the day you were born, she has been your absolute biggest fan. Your first word, learning to walk, read, write, drive. Watching you graduate high school, college, whatever path you follow she supports you and she cheers you on the whole way.

5. She always helps you understand and make the right choices.

Mom will talk you through the right choice, how to make that choice and help you understand why that choice is right. No matter the day or time. No matter if you have already talked it over a thousand times before. She is always there to help.

6. She's your personal stylist, hair and makeup artist.

She's always there to tell you what looks perfect and what isn't so flattering. How you should style your hair and help you achieve that style. and what make up looks good and what makes you look like Frankenstein. She boosts your self-confidence and always makes sure you look and feel amazing.

7. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to mom.

Honesty is the most important thing in a successful relationship. If you give honesty you will receive honesty in return. If you lie, you will get caught.

8. Mom knows everything.

She knows everything and whatever she doesn't know, she will find out. This leads me back to always telling the truth. It's the best policy. And it will be appreciated.

9. The Golden Rule is the most important rule.

You get what you give. You must treat all the way that you wish to be treated. Mom always tells you, that you don't know another person’s life so to always be kind and treat others with the respect that you would wish to receive, if the tables were turned.

10. She taught you that it's okay to love yourself and put yourself first.

Mom taught you only to depend on yourself and rely solely on you. That you don't need anyone to make your own self happiness and feel your self-worth.

11. Lastly, mom will never leave your side.

Through thick and thin, she will always be by your side. Just you and her against the world. She loves you with all of her heart and being. She will do whatever it takes to make sure you succeed and will sacrifice whatever you need to keep you safe, happy and healthy.

Love you the mostest, momma. Thank you for all that you have done and sacrificed to give me the best life.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
