Once September ends, the season of fall truly begins. The air gets colder and crisper and the trees turn to beautiful shades of yellow and orange. Many wonderful things happen during this beautiful season, so here's what you need to know.

1. Holidays

Thanksgiving and Halloween. These holidays are some of the best that happen year round, and of course they happen during fall! From trick-or-treating in the best costume to gathering around a table with friends and family giving thanks.

2. Beautiful trees

During this time of year the trees go from green to yellow, orange, and red. It's a beautiful transition to watch during fall. Especially when they fall to the ground because then you can go hop in some multi-colored leaf piles!

3. Sweater weather

This is the time of year when things start cooling down, so you can start bundling up! Sweaters are perfect for any fall occasion.

4. Pumpkin everything

Literally everything. And we're totally okay with it!

5. Boots

Boots are a must have item in fall. They can go with any outfit, and can keep your toes warm on those crisp, chilly days.

6. Bonfires

Who doesn't love cuddling up with blankets and gathering friends for a good old fashioned bonfire? Fall is the perfect time of year because it's not too hot to sit around a fire, and it's just cold enough to enjoy being outside.

7. Scarves

Again, another must have accessory to have in fall! They're super cute and functional at the same time.

8. Warm drinks

From drinking hot cocoa while you study for your midterms. Or maybe even grab a nice hot coffee while you stay up late writing papers. Either way fall is the best time to grab some nice hot drinks to warm you up on chilly nights.

9. Football

It's that time of year where you can go cheer on your favorite team! Huddling up with the people in the stands to root your team on are some of the best memories people have. Of course football season is synonymous with fall!

10. Caramel apples

These delicious treats are a staple to the fall season. It's a tradition to have them at any fall festival!

11. Apple Cider

Last, but not least. This yummy drink is the best product of fall. Sipping on some fresh homemade apple cider is the best way to end any fall day!

There you have it! 11 of the top reasons to why fall is the best. Granted, I could go on and on about how amazing fall is, but take this chance now and go take a walk and enjoy the weather!

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.

1. As a freshman, one does get to be called “freshman” by upperclassmen when they walk to parties in a mob of people.

3. Upperclassmen live for meal swipes from freshman because they are poor and need free food.

4. People are struggling just as much as you are so you're not alone.

5. You will never take privacy or personal space for granted ever again.

6. You are not the only one who has slept on the community bathroom floor after a night out.

7. Skipping class for Netflix is a valid excuse.

8. It’s totally acceptable to bring a pot of coffee, a sleeping bag and a pillow to the library.

9. Having class with a friend is the best because you can trade off days on who goes to class.

10. When you are a senior, you take the easiest classes to boost your GPA.

11. How to pull an all-nighter.

12. How to handle drunk people.

13. The drunk you does not look out for sober you about 90 percent of the time.

14. How to deal with a hangover.

15. How to interact with people very different from you.

16. The perfect amount to procrastinate on every assignment.

17. How to pass a class without paying for the textbook that was "required."

18. How to calculate your grades to see what you need on every test in order to maintain a passing grade.

19. How to hook-up with someone without getting emotions involved (but we all know that doesn’t happen).

20. How to handle your roommate when you want to strangle them.

21. That you miss your parent’s every day.

22. How to get into a bar when you aren’t 21.

23. How to BS on assignments, out loud and on your resume.

24. That theme parties are the greatest.

32. Cereal, ramen noodles, Easy Mac and microwavable pancakes can be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

33. That classes before 8 a.m. should be illegal.
