11 Reasons Why Cold Weather Is The Best Weather

Cold weather is not given enough credit. All you ever hear is complaint after complaint about it being cold, and not all the shear amazingness this chilly atmosphere brings.

Now, I'm not saying that warm, hot, mild, lukewarm and all other types of weather aren't great, but there's something about the cold that makes you smile and feel all warm (ironic, I know) inside.

And if you're like me, cold blooded and have a strange love of everything cold. then this weather is undoubtedly the best.

1. Because 'the best time to wear a striped sweater, is all the timeeeeee.'

I mean, who doesn't love a good striped sweater, amirite? I think SpongeBob said it best. They're comfy, warm and above all, you can literally throw one on and walk out the door looking like such a fashionista.

2. You don't sweat every time you walk outside or walk literally anywhere. #BLESSED.

Because, if you're like me, you break a sweat whilst walking 10 feet to your car. And that just stinks, literally.

3. Layering is your hidden art. You're like Picasso in the layering world.

Give me anything- a scarf, a long sleeve top, a dress -- I'll layer it, just watch me!

4. Cold weather means the best holidays.

I mean, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Need I say more? I could dress as a pumpkin while eating turkey and listening to Christmas music in the middle of kissing someone at midnight like all year round.

5. You now have an excuse to cuddle with everyone and everything.

Who doesn't love to cuddle? Well, now you have a good excuse, and don't just look like a weirdo going up to random strangers or pets and cuddling with them -- well, you might still look like a weirdo but that's okay.

6. Are snow and falling leaves not like, the prettiest things ever?

Snow is gorgeous. Leaves are beautiful. And together, they're like a portion of Heaven on earth. It doesn't get better than that folks. You literally can't lose.

7. Hot chocolate and fires become a regular occurrence. And you couldn't be more ecstatic.

Fun fact: hot chocolate becomes 100 times better when you drink it in front of a crackling fire. And it makes for a killer Insta photo. When paired with some pumpkin spice or gingerbread, you've got a party in your mouth!

8. Shopping for sweaters, boots, and scarves makes you all tingly inside.

And leggings, and hats, and gloves, oh my! Now all the cute cold weathers outfits you saved on Pinterest might actually be put to good use?

9. You get dress your pet up in adorable sweaters and force them to stay still while you take 1000 pictures from every angle.

Yes, we've all done it, including you. Because even though our pets are cute all year round, putting them in festive sweaters somehow makes them even cuter, which you didn't even think was possible.

10. Wearing fuzzy socks make your feet feel like they're floating on tiny little clouds.

You're lying if you didn't say fuzzy socks made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's like a blanket for all your little piggies!

11. Above all, football and basketball season are in full swing. And you just can;t contain your excitement!

You've waited all year for this, and finally, it's here! And even if you aren't a huge sports fan, wearing cute sporty outfits while throwing adorable watch parties with football shaped food is what you live for!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
