11 Reasons Why I Cannot Wait To Be Old

Ever since I can remember I have been telling my friends that I think I would make a great elderly person. My friends often respond with weird looks and call me ridiculous, but hear me out: being old doesn't have to be something we spend our lives dreading. I plan on being a really really cool old lady. I can just picture myself in some crazy outfit, puttering around my garden and yelling at children about how much better the early 2000s were then their present. So these are 11 things that make getting old something to look forward to. Do not dread the future, if you are alive you should be having fun, no matter your age.

1. You can dress however you want, the haters can't touch you.

2. You can spend more time with your besties.

Gossiping with your girls is good at any age, but with age comes a lot more stuff to gossip about.

3. You can spend all day just puttering around in the garden.

I'm not sure why exactly, but I have always had a burning desire to be an old lady with a killer garden. Watch me with my lavender and bell peppers in 50 years.

4. You can pull pranks and do crazy stuff, and no one can complain because you're older than them.

5. I can spend more time being a politically active volunteer superstar.

6. I can freely be as ostentatious and self obsessed as I want to be.

7. I can sleep whenever and wherever I want.

8. Dinner at 4 PM? Yes please.

9. You don't have to tolerate small talk and lame parties.

10. You can throw a real party and rage in piece without judgement.

11. You can stop working and start cashing in that good ole' retirement money.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
