11 Reasons Why Being Alone Is OK
Li Vanier

For you, it is hard to be alone. You might even think that the only way people will view you as a normal human being, is if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend. Even if you don’t have feelings for the guy or girl, you have to have someone in your life. Well I’m here to tell you that you are wrong, and I don’t want to sound harsh, I’m just here to help.

1. Being alone is not a bad thing. In fact, it is a sign of confidence. It’s not always necessary to have another person in your life.

2. Having time to just do you is always important. You have to learn who you are and what you want out of life. Always having someone around is not going to help you do that.

3. You’re more than likely always being called names because these little flings or relationships do not last long. Even if they’re not true, these are the opinions of others and it is up to you to change them. (I know people’s opinions shouldn’t matter, but they do bother some people.)

4. The right person will come along if you allow time to let them. Everyone has to go through things in their life to get to the good stuff. Don’t allow your time to be consumed by someone else all of the time.

5. Being alone will help you build a personality that is all of your own. You will grow and learn and become a better and stronger person.

6. Your friends need you too. You probably don’t have a lot of time for your friends, if you’re always dating or always looking for the next date. Give them the same effort that you give all of your dates, and you might end up enjoying their time more than the little flings.

7. Having to be with somebody all of the time could mean that you are unhappy. Happiness is important and make sure that you are truly happy before allowing anyone to enter your life.

8. During this alone time, you will begin to establish independence. Independence is important and is a positive trait to have.

9. Having time to just be you gives you more time for important things like, your family, your schoolwork, or even your job. People in relationships tend to forget about some of these things. Putting more effort into these things could provide you with more opportunities in the future.

10. Sometimes searching for love is not the key to finding love. Love tends to have a way of finding you. Do your thing and sooner or later, that person will magically show up.

11. Honestly though, who needs boyfriends/girlfriends all of the time when we have Netflix. Netflix will never let you down.

I’m not saying that you should be alone for the rest of your life, because you will appear strong or independent. What I am saying is that it is OK to be alone in certain times of your life. It seems as if our society believes that if you don’t have a boyfriend or a girlfriend than there is something wrong with you, and that is not true. So remember, it’s okay to have a boyfriend or girlfriend but it’s also okay to just do you for a while and figure out who you are before you allow someone else to come into your wonderful life!

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
