World-renowned television host, bestselling author, comedian, humanitarian, and Covergirl, Ellen Degeneres does it all. Through her highly popular TV show, she is able to inspire millions to give, to dance, and to be kind.

Even when we are hurt, sad, or in distress, this ray of light is able to find a way to show us the good that is still out there in the world by helping school teachers, bringing talented and adorable kids on her show, and making us laugh by torturing poor Average Andy. Ellen makes it her life goal to help anyone and anything in need, and here are just a few reason we should all be a little more like Ellen.

1. She pulls the best pranks on people.

She is a genius when it comes to pranking people. Especially Matt Lauer.

2. She really knows how to scare the bejesus out of her guests.

It happens all the time, yet her stealth skills keep her guests from knowing when it's coming.

3. Her fashion game is on point.

Why attempt to copy Kate Middleton's style when Ellen's is all you really need?

4. She is a true humanitarian at heart.

One of the best things about Ellen is how much she cares and gives to anyone in need. Teachers, charities, animals, you name it. She has the power to help those who really need it and she recognizes that and takes full advantage of her privilege to assist those who need and deserve help.

5. Speaking of teachers, she really likes them.

Here's something shocking, teachers often go above and beyond for their students and are grossly underpaid for their services. But you know who always knew that? Ellen Degeneres. She knows how important teachers are and how much of an impact they have on our youth today. So why not show more appreciation. Obviously, it would be a little difficult to have students raise thousands of dollars for their teacher, but a simple act of kindness is all it really takes.

6. She knows how to have a good time.

This picture says it all.

7. Halloween? She WINS at that holiday.

Her costumes are always creative and always head turning. Plus putting Andy through a haunted house every year makes everyone's day.

8. She is probably the best dancer of any generation.

Sorry Beyoncé, but I would rather have a dance lesson from Ellen over you any day. I'll be waiting for my confirmation call!

9. She is wiser than many of us will ever be, and knows what is truly valuable in this world.

She is constantly advocating for kindness, honesty, and treating others the way you would want them to treat you. And those values are slowly fading away from our society. If we don't practice what we preach, then we will never grow as a society and qualities such as compassion and kindness will slowly fade away. But Ellen is here to make sure that doesn't happen.

10. Ellen doesn't give a f*** about people that try to bring her down

Ellen is a sweet, funny, generous, and giving person. She doesn't have time to be bothered by those who try to bring her down! She's too busy donating her time and money to those in need.

11. She always reminds people of the most important thing...

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
