Four years have finally gone by. It is time for the world's greatest sporting event: the Olympics! A new year, new city, new athletes, and even new sports! Everything about the Rio Olympics is enough to bring excitement. However, if you still aren't pumped for the Olympics here are some reasons why you should be:

1. The Atmosphere

You really don't need to know what is going on, you just need to be cheering for your country with a bunch of friends.

2. Opening Ceremony Uniforms

Stay classy, America.

3. Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Nathan Adrian

Basically the entire men's swimming team.

4. A Reason to Watch TV

Watching the Olympics is a guaranteed excuse to watch TV all day. The Olympics only come once every four years. You don't want to miss anything important, right?

5. Motivation to Work Out

There's something about watching talented athletes that makes you question your physical fitness or lack thereof.

6. Ryan Lochte

Have I mentioned him already? Whoops.

7. Golf!

There will only be few of you that will appreciate this reason, but for all the golf-lovers out there: Golf is finally an Olympic sport! (Props to wrestling fans too).

8. End of an Era

This will be Michael Phelps' fifth and last Olympics. He will be remembered as one of the greatest Olympians of all time. Ryan Lochte may or may not be leaving with him. Kerri Walsh Jennings will be trying for her fourth gold medal in sand volleyball. You do not want to miss the last of the best.

9. A New Age

Following in the footsteps of our "older" Olympians are talented young athletes, most being teenagers. These athletes have come to compete and show the world what the new age of athletics will look like.

10. It Brings People Together

As our daily news feeds show, we live in a fallen world. The Olympics is the one time every four years that all the countries of the world come together not to talk about politics, economics or war. They come to compete and bring pride to their country.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
