Pumpkin spice season is now in full-fledged swing and I couldn't be happier. Here's why:

1. It's getting colder.

Don't get me wrong, summer is my favorite season, but I'd rather not take a 10 minute walk to my class and end up drowning in my own sweat.

2. My winter wardrobe is so much bigger.

If I had a penny for the amount of sweaters and leggings I have in my closet, I'd be rich.

3. All of the food I'm going to eat.

As a college student, I find myself fantasizing about food 99% of the time. Thanksgiving and Christmas are guaranteeing a triple calorie boost.

4. That sweet holiday smell.

The limited edition holiday scents from Bath & Body Works are to die for. The mall smells like pine cones and roasted marshmallows.

5. Pumpkin spice everything.

As I mentioned earlier, pumpkin spice is the best and it doesn't take your basic girl to figure that out.

6. People are always nicer.

Unless you're the Grinch or a sales associate, people are generally nicer and happier. Who doesn't love to spread cheer during the holiday seasons?

7. The sales.

Nothing says family bonding like going Black Friday shopping right after your Thanksgiving meal.

8. Pop culture.

I'll be watching Freeform's 31 Days of Christmas while singing "All I Want for Christmas is You."

9. Family.

If you haven't had the "family first" card pulled on you yet, it's coming. This is an actual time you get to sit and have a nice conversation without worrying about that essay that's due tomorrow. But you probably will get asked countless times about how school is going, or if you've found a significant other.

10. Sleep.

No more nights of getting 2 hours of sleep, you're guaranteed a least 7 hours over break.

11. Finally, because we need a break.

As much as we love our 8 AM classes, sometimes we just need to get away from it all. The holidays are all about winding down and giving your brain a rest.

So, if you're still on the fence about this holiday season, it's okay. The New Year is right around the corner, and that means a whole new year of possibilities.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
