Personally, spring is my favorite season of the year. When the cold winter months move into the budding of fresh flowers and the chirping of birds in the early morning, I am always mu

ch more excited to start my day. Whether it’s getting up at 7:00am for work or staying on campus until 8:00pm for my night class, it seems that my mood is drastically changed when the spring weather begins. Why am I writing this in February you ask? Because it is currently 75 degrees out...on February 21st...WHAT. My heart is so happy. The following are just a few very important reasons to love life even that much more in the months of spring.

1. Ummmm hello....LESS CLOTHING

Ok so like I am all for comfy chunky knit sweaters, leggings, and thigh high boots...but have you ever worn a sundress and sandals? Completely freeing and so much more FUN.

2. More Daytime Sunlight

So many more hours of sunlight in a day, meaning more hours to go for a hike, walk your dog, bask in the sun, daydream, and smile. Did I mention how much I love the springtime?

3. Only a few months until SUMMER

Nothing gets me more excited than having off for nearly 4 months...so obviously, the anticipation of summer is another thing that makes the springtime so great.

4. Spring Break Y’all

I don’t think I have to say much else.

5. Bathing Suit Shopping

Shopping is always one of my favorite hobbies, so any excuse to buy something new. Nothing makes me feel more confident than killing it in a new suit. A bathing suit that is. Work it GURLLLL.

6. Extra Summer Motivation

Every year I set a goal for myself, whether it’s working on my fitness, eating healthier, or saving up for a summer trip. So, when spring hits I push myself that much harder to reach my goals.

7. No rush to go INSIDE

I could be outside for hours if it’s sunny and 75. A slight breeze. UGH. Hurry up.

8. Everything’s New and PRETTY

Flowers. Oh my GOD how I love them. Everything looks incredible in the spring.

9. Spring SPORTS (talk about a HOME RUN)

Batter up.

10. Spring Cleaning

I dare you to name 5 things more satisfying than having all the windows open to clean out your winter messes.

11. Sun is HAPPY so you’re HAPPY

Obviously bad things can happen regardless of the season, and they do. But every morning I wake up and it’s spring I’m just that much happier.

Obviously these are only some of the reasons why the springtime is my favorite season of them all, but I couldn’t be more excited for March 20th. I hope you’re just as excited as I am.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
