Whether you've gone random or not; having a roommate is always tricky business. When you are living with another person for an entire year, you're bound to get to know more of each other than probably either one of you wants. It starts off by just knowing their sleeping route and other daily habits, but at the end of the year you know more about their personal life than you might know about your own and vice versa. What could happen is that because of all this knowledge you unintentionally acquired you might start to get annoyed with them, but what I'd suggest is that you use your shared knowledge for the greater good and start teasing each other.

Just to get the edge of things a bit, here are 11 reasons why teasing your roommate is actually the best:

1. It makes you more open

They might judge for taking naps all day and all the other unusual habits you have, but the fact that they know this only means that you don't have to hide any of your other habits from them either. It will make your life a lot easier if you stop trying to hide all the SourPatch Kids you buy every single day, because of fear of judgement.

2. It makes the relationship healthier

Sometimes living with someone in such a small space can get awkward, but the fact that you can crack jokes about it shows that it doesn't have to. Teasing your roommate about their life clears the tension and makes room for a much more relaxed and health atmosphere.

3. It is a lot of fun

Who else is more fun to tease than the person you see every single day and already know exactly how they're going to react? Absolutely no one!

4. It shows how much you know each other

You can't tease someone about their life if you know nothing about it. The fact that you know each other so well to know which buttons to push, shows that your relationship is flourishing.

5. It shows that you pay attention

You wouldn't tease someone you don't care about. Teasing your roommate about that time they humiliated themselves shows that you enough of an effort to actually remember the things they do. You paid so much attention to this person that you found spare time to come up with jokes about their life.

6. You become closer through the process

They know everything about you and you know everything about them. You can't expect to have your roommate relationship succeed if you're not even close enough to know why Chris from 7th grade is a person who shall not be named, but who's name you occasionally drop just to see how they react.

7. It gives you more confidence to share personal details in the future

Despite the fact that your roommate will probably host future roasts in your room using these personal details, you know that deep down that's all you really need. This person already know every little detail there is to know about you, the fact that they're using it to roast you only shows that they're close enough to you to not treat you like you're fragile and can't handle a little mockery.

8. You make fun of either people together

You might tease each other from time to time, but bless all the people you both know because your mockery will also include them. This time you get to join forces and not be pitted against each other!

9. You have each other's backs

Together you make a united front. You might make fun of all the frat boys your roommate has made out with, but no one other than you can make fun of her for doing exactly that. Don't they dare!

10. You have inside jokes

Because you make fun of their life so much, means that after a while one word or look will be enough to tell what has happened to them. You'll be crying of laughter within no time, because what's funnier than not even having to say the joke to know that you are the roast master.

11. Your roommate will become one of your best friends

You'll laugh so much about each other's embarrassments that you can't help but become super close friends in the process. So brace yourself for a lifetime of mockery and friendship.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast ā€œBirthdayā€ on anyoneā€™s birthday. I knew all of the words to ā€œBack In The U.S.S.Rā€ by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. Iā€™m not someone to ā€œfangirlā€ but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
