There is a sea of orange everywhere you look. What a beautiful sight.

2. Stillwater High School is definitely not forgotten.

The Pioneers are just as great, and as you see the sea of orange, you see the occasional blue and gold. Stillwater supports and loves all the schools that it holds.

3. It’s its own little world outside the busy cities of OKC and Tulsa.

Stillwater may be in the middle of nowhere, but maybe that’s a good thing! Stillwater has everything without having the hustle and bustle of the big cities.

4. The fall and winter times are beautiful in Stillwater.

If you take a drive in any of the older neighborhoods, the big and tall trees show the changing colors of the leaves and the snow on the branches. It is a beautiful sight to see that you won’t find in much other places in Oklahoma.

5. The people are so friendly.

In any town, you get the occasional grump, but it’s a rare sight to see in Stillwater. The older folks know each other, the younger ones get to know each other and the children run around in their OSU clothing. Seeing a smile on the street or in the store can always brighten people’s day.

6. The small business help make Stillwater special.

From Eskimo Joes, to Chillwater Apparel, and of course, Aspen Coffee, these special places hold a special place in the hearts of students, and residents new and old of Stillwater. Plus, the smaller, Stillwater only places have the friendliest employees.

7. Game days are the greatest days ever.

The traffic may be terrible, but being around the people who have the same love for football and basketball.

8. Everyone comes together in times of crisis.

This is a given. Stillwater is a close knit family who sticks together when tragedy strikes.

9. The traffic isn’t as bad.

It’s only bad for like, an hour at most on regular days. Game days? Not so much.

10. It is family and community centered.

You may see a lot of people bike ride or walk in the park. You may see children playing, or a sign for a daddy and daughter dance. Community is very big in Stillwater.

11. Stillwater is home.

A lot of people have an automatic sense of home when coming to Stillwater for the first time. Some others, like me, had to give it a while, but eventually I fell in love with it.
