Let's be honest, everybody has fallen into the One Direction fandom at some point in time. Many say that "It's just a phase. You'll grow out of it." Truthfully though, none of us have and we still cherish these boys who are now men and here's why:

1. Car rides aren't the same without jamming to their CD's.

Everyone knows a road trip isn't complete unless "Live While We're Young", "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", or "Wolves" have played at least twice.

2. Their solo projects are what we live for.

These boys have made it so far in their careers and granted I myself am very upset that I have yet to go to a 1D concert, but I still support them and really can't wait until they all have solo albums.

3. Their accents.

Each boy has a different accent depending on which part of Britain they grew up in and well Niall is just an Irish lad and you can't help but love that.

4. The old memories.

If you've been here since 2010 or even here since 2016, you can't deny that looking back at all the things the fandom has been through is a good laugh. I've been in the fandom since 2011 and 2012 "Larry Era" is still my all time favorite.

5. They're cute af.

If you are not a fan and are caught calling one of the boys a name, you might want to hide before we catch you. The adorable smiles and hair flips forever live on and we are still swooning over Liam's puppy dog eyes.

6. We grew up with them.

I was 14 when I made a mistake that changed my life. This "mistake" was clicking on a YouTube video of the boys singing "What Makes You Beautiful" and have yet to look back. 6 years in this fandom can do a number to you but I don't regret being 20 years old with a One Direction lunch box sitting in my back seat and all my CD's being stored there. It's proudly showcased to the students who walk by my car in the parking lot every day.

7. Have you heard them sing?

Like, have you actually just sat there and listened to the high notes Harry (and Zayn) can belt out? Even in their solo songs, these boys have a voice that needs to be heard.

8. They truly care about their fans.

You can truly see it in their faces and their eyes when they meet fans or hear a story about one. These boys have done so much for us and I don't know if they realize it or not. They truly love us for us, even with our FBI tendencies.

9. Not your typical boyband.

They can't dance to save their lives and matching clothes are a thing of the past. These boys are unique. Enough said.

10. They can cheer me up in 0.2 seconds.

These boys I swear. If it isn't their music, it's them when it comes to cheering me up on a bad day. Every time I see a video of Harry laughing I can't help but giggle at the way he covers his face and coo at how adorable this boy is.

11. Friendship.

Through this fandom, I have met some amazing people and have made everlasting friendships. I don't know where I'd be without my 1D friends by my side. I can talk to them and rant and even ignore them for a hundred years (not purposely) but I know they're still by my side. The almost 20 different girls I've met will always be in my heart even when the distance gets the best of us.

Harry, Louis, Niall, and Liam (and even Zayn) I love you still, I'll love you always. Thanks for being a group that truly cares and has changed my life. I love you all but Harry you're my favorite even if that makes me a Directionator.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
