11 Reasons to Smile Today

1. You woke up today.

Don't you try and say you haven't accomplished anything today. The minute you opened your eyes you accomplished something. Go reward yourself.

2. Oreos are vegan.

Yeah. You read that correctly. I'm not sure whether I should be happy or confused that there is no milk in them but, always good to know Go surprise a vegan friend with them.

3. Someone just became a parent.

Whether that parenthood be to a pet or a human, that's still pretty amazing.

4. Carbs exist in this world.

There are so many to consume and so little time to consume them.

5. Someone just made it out a surgery and will recover with no complications.

Imagine the immediate relief of this person and their loved ones. Imagine how the doctor feels getting to tell everyone that things went smoothly.

6. Someone got married today.

Don't you just love love? Two people get to spend the rest of their lives together starting today. Makes my heart swoon just thinking about it.

7. Someone got a job offer today.

If you've ever hunted for jobs, you know this is a reason to smile. #OutOfMomsBasementHereICome

8. A dog or a cat was just pet and is so happy now.

Just imagine it's little tail wagging and waving and all the soft purrs.

9. Someone had their first kiss today.

Ohlalala. It's a fun memory regardless of how sweet/awful/tongue-y it was.

10. Someone played their first note on an instrument that they are beginning to learn to play.

They've created something with their hands that moves people in a way we simply can't describe in words without doing music an injustice. Simply beautiful to think about, don't you think?

11. You are alive and gifting this great, big world with your presence.

You have created a space that can't be filled by anyone else. You are simply irreplaceable and one-of-a-kind.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
