When my older sister first invited me to go rock climbing, I was extremely hesitant. I was terribly out of shape and clumsy and figured the whole experience would be pathetic. I could not have been more wrong. When I showed up to Cleveland Rock Gym, I was welcomed by their knowledgeable staff and they showed me which routes would be suitable for beginners like myself. I ended up having a great time, and since, climbing has become one of my favorite hobbies and a great way for me to stay in shape. That being said, I was inspired to write this article to share all the reasons why rock climbing is an awesome experience and a fun activity to try over summer break.

1. It's a great, full-body workout.

Rock climbing is a great strength builder, and it's less monotonous than lifting weights at the gym.

2. You won't need a gym membership.

Because rock climbing works your whole body, you no longer have to worry about paying for a gym membership.

3. There are great deals that save you money.

Most gyms that I have been to offer a variety of options from punch cards to monthly and yearly memberships, making it an extremely affordable experience .

4. It is a great sport for people of all ages, making it a great family activity.

Many gyms even offer family lesson packages.

5. It's a sport suitable for beginners all the way up to advanced climbers.

There are many types of routes ranging from easy to hard, making it possible for beginners as well as seasoned pros to have a great time.

6. It can be done indoors or outdoors.

If it rains, you can try an indoor gym. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, there are many great outdoor locations where you can climb man-made walls or natural rock.

7. It's a great bonding experience.

Rock climbing was never meant to be a one person sport. Every climber needs someone to belay!

8. It is mentally as well as physically challenging.

Rock climbing takes concentration and it can sometimes be like solving a puzzle when trying to figure out your next move on a route.

9. You don't always need a harness.

Though it is a difficult style for beginners, there's a type of rock climbing called bouldering which is done close to the ground. It involves shorter, more difficult routes.

10. It is a great way to experience nature.

There are many beautiful locations to climb (in Ohio: whips ledges is a great place to boulder and Hocking Hills has climbing areas) with gorgeous views.

11. It's super FUN!!

Whether you are looking for a heavy workout, looking to experience nature, or just looking for a day of fun, rock climbing is an overall fun activity.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
