Even with a billion members, I am happy to be a sister every last one of them.

11 Reasons I Am Proud To Be A Phi Sigma Sigma

Most people have a small group of friends that they carry with them through college life and into the adult world. However, I am fortunate enough to have 200 plus sisters in my life. Though there 11,000 reasons I love these girls unconditionally, I had to stop somewhere… These are the top 11 reasons I love being a Phi Sigma Sigma.

1. We always accept our roses!

Our Flower is the American Beauty Rose.

2. We know all the words to Beyonce’s Love On Top

Baby it’s you

You're the one I love

Phi Sig’s the one you’ll need

We’re the only house you’ll see

Come on baby, It’s true

3. Life’s Sweeter With my Sisters

Candy Themed Bid Day… Yum.

4. Sisterhood

Because these are the only girls that I could spend 72 hours straight with and still feel

sad when they’re gone.

5. Phamily, Phinest, Phabulous

Phi, Phi, Phi. ALL about the PHI.

6. Diversity

Phi Sigma Sigma was founded in 1913 at Hunter College under the ideals of non

secularism. This meaning women of all practicing religions, non-religious and beliefs

could be a member of Phi Sigma Sigma.

7. We are LGBTQIA friendly.

Earlier this year, our Grand Archon announced that Phi Sigma Sigma would be an all inclusive sorority. Thus, each chapter could take on any person identifying as a female.

7. Apparel

We will take any excuse to make a new shirt. Bid day? Shirt. Sprite Dates? Shirt. POTH? Shirt. Fundraiser? Shirt. ITS WEDNESDAY? SHIRT.

8. Little lows for Big highs

I feel like every sorority has their own little way of pairing bigs and littles, but I’m pretty

sure ours is the perfect situation. We are a little gets what little wants sorority, meaning

every big little relationship is seriously the best.

9. Love in the Pyramid

It's amazing to me that there are thousands of other Phi Sig’s out there, just like me, that

would be willing to give me the shirt off their back. Our relationships extend far beyond the

walls of our campus, and long after graduation day. Also, it’s kind of fun to say #LIT-P.

10. Our Sigsters throw what they know!

Our hand signs are exactly what we represent. When our thumbs and pointers form a

heart, they are signifying love. Then middle fingers come together to show a pyramid

because love is always in the pyramid.

11. Recruitment Season

Let’s face it… Recruitment season is pre-Addison Meredith and Derek. We are on and off with our love. The excitement is good, then tiring, but all so worth it in the end.

ONCE A PHI SIGMA SIGMA, ALWAYS A PHI SIGMA SIGMA.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
