"The Polar Express" is a 2004 film that was directed by Robert Zemeckis. Although the film got a mix of positive and negative reviews, I hail it as one of the best Christmas films out there. So while everyone else is freaking out over "Elf" or "A Christmas Story," I'm just waiting for the sound of Santa's sleigh bells to ring within my computer screen. Obviously, I love this movie and here's why.
1. First of all, the film is based on the original book, written by Chris Van Allsburg, that we all grew up with, giving the film a beautiful sense of nostalgia.
2. Tom Hanks is everywhere in this movie, playing a total of six roles. And if you don't like Tom Hanks, then you're wrong. His voice acting is top notch, and a perfect match to the whimsy and energy of the film.
3. Just look at it!
4. This has to be one of the most beautiful Christmas films ever.
5. Also, have you heard the score for this film? Because it's one of the most gorgeous things I've ever heard. It fills me up with Christmas wonder just thinking about it.
6) That song "Hot Chocolate," though. You're lying if you say that you don't find yourself belting it every holiday season.
7. And don't get me started on the song "Believe" by Josh Groban that was made for this film.
8. Let's hear it one more time for Josh Groban.
9. Speaking of believing, the message of "The Polar Express" gets me every time.
10. It's the reason why I'll always claim to believe in Santa Claus, no matter how silly I sound.
11. So, are you going to jump on "The Polar Express" band wagon*? (*train)
