Whether it's in an apartment, a house you're all sharing, or in a residence hall on campus, one of the greatest and most magical things about college is getting to live with your best friends. Whether they're across the hall or just within walking distance, it's fantastic to always have someone to hang out with. This is so unique in the fact that college is just about the only time you'll ever live this close to all of your friends, and it definitely ensures that even your average Tuesday night won't be boring. Cherish this time with your pals, because you won't always have the pleasure of having a Netflix and Eat-Raw-Cookie-Dough partner right across the hall. Here are some other things you're probably taking for granted now and will absolutely be missing when you all enter the big, bad "real world":

1. Up late studying? At least you have someone to do it with.

Even though this usually just leads to group procrastination.

2. Mi drama es su drama.

We're always all together, so the drama of one becomes of the drama of all. We have to stay in the know and want the 411 on all the deets. You can sure bet we've got your back, though.

3. It's always meal time.

Someone made dinner? meal time. Someone wants to make a Taco Bell run? more meal time. Eating is our favorite form of hanging out.

4. Swapping Netflix recommendations.

Then you become obsessed with each other's shows and binge watch like crazy.

5. Family grocery shopping trips.

The employees hate when they see you all coming, and you're bound to cause some weirdness in the store, but hey, y'all are having fun.

6. There's always someone there to calm you down mid-existential crisis.

You never have to be in the feels alone.

7. You have a panel through which all potential future love interests must pass.

They're the toughest critics, but they've got your best interest in mind. Besides, if you're dating one of us, you're dating all of us.

8. Weekly movie nights become a thing.

The hardest part is agreeing on a movie.

9. When you get the inevitable seasonal funk, there's someone there to bring you soup and tissues.

Second only after Mom.

10. Whether it be a night in or a night out, you've always got plans.

You've always got someone to goof around with, whether it be on the dance floor or in the living room.

11. Spontaneity.

Whether it be for the weekend, for the night, or just across campus, it's easy to round up the crew and go on a spontaneous adventure.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
