It’s no secret that there’s a ton of hype for spring break. From tropical vacations to late nights out, it’s often the peak of party-central all year long.

That said, come spring break, there’s a good chance you’re pretty burnt out from all the work you’ve done so far in the semester. So, if you’re simply heading home for break, don’t think you’re missing out. In fact, a spring break staycation might do you better than hitting up a boozy beach for a week straight, and here’s why:

1. You get to see your family.

After all, they’re the folks you miss all year long.

2. You get to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

You’ll practically recover from midterms – and flu season –overnight.

3. You don’t have to do any planning.

No worrying about coordinating travel plans – and we all know just how stressful that can be.

4. There’s no worrying about where your next meal is coming from.

From home-cooked meals (made not by you) to hitting up your favorite restaurant, you’re set.

5. You can hang out with your pets.

Especially if you're a cat or dog person, you know just how gratifying this can be.

6. You won’t return to school with a ton of laundry.

It’ll be a HUGE relief when you can return to school with clean clothes.

7. You get to save some cash.

All you’ll have to do is pay for your flights home and back.

8. You’ll have time to binge-watch a show on Netflix.

The best kind of Netflix and Chill.

9. Or you can even read a book for fun.

Reading something other than a textbook…can you just imagine?

10. You’ll be one of the lucky students returning to school without a sunburn or a horrible tan line.

Definitely not a cute look.

11. You’ll have less to do, making the break feel extra long and luxurious.

It'll be the kind of vacation where time slows down a bit in the absolute best way possible.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
